Celebrate the end of something (the week, the semester, the afternoon, the first part of your life) on Friday 14th with The Fold (and others TBA) at Bar 303, 303 High St Northcote.

Consider it launched
July 28, 2008First a big thanks to all those who piled into the Railway Hotel for the launch party. Something cosmic from the full moon (which occurred at 6pm the night before) leaked one day into the future and filled the night with a curious and intense mixture of dark and light (just the way we like it).
Leisure Class and Deserters energised the room with fantastic edge and class (respectively). By the time we stepped up to the plate to strike our first chords, you might say we had it presented to us on a platter, although a good gid always hangs on a knife edge. But enough of the domestic metaphors…
It was amazing to play to a full room with gigantic, semi- and fully-inebriated smiles all around, including a rowdy bunch of drunken teachers for whom I take no responsiblity (and for now will remain nameless). I got the feeling that it was only the steely stares from Matt which averted the hailing of used underwear from the sky…The party really took off when KASH DJ’s invaded the stage and only stopped when authorites judged that everyone had reached the legal limit of happiness for one night and demanded we move on.
Expect photos and videos to be posted in the near future (and if you have any great shots, make sure you upload them on the Fold’s Facebook page, or the launch event page!).
The Fold hit the town again on Thursday 24th to play the seedier side of town at Pogo (Geddes Lane) and made some great new friends in the form of Howl at the Moon (http://www.myspace.com/howlatthemoonmusic).
Happy Wintering.

And along came a kind…
June 22, 2008Well, it’s been a few years in the making, but the new album “A Kind of Lightening” is finally here, in the flesh. Real cardboard and plastic.
Grab your diary and take a giant luminescent orange posca to Saturday 19th of July. Don’t be anywhere on that day but the Fold’s album launch party extravaganza! Check the upcoming gigs page for details.
For those who simply can’t wait a few weeks to get their hands on the new tracks, the album is available for download from iTunes and CDs can be purchased online here, at Polyester Records (Fitzroy) and Missing Link. Of course you could also just get in touch with us and pick up a copy face to face (and buy us a coffee).
Hope to catch you all at the launch, and hope you enjoy the new CD.
Chris

‘Tis the season
April 30, 2008What better way to farewell Autumn than tucked up in the cosy back room at 303 High street?
As leaves turn their wrinkled eyes toward the soil again The Fold will usher in the chilly season with another night of music at Bar 303 on Saturday 31st May.
Fantastic supports to be announced.
Also, we’ll be announcing the date for our album launch very soon!!
Cheers,
Chris

a little christmas gift…
November 21, 2007Well, the fold are back on the rehearsal train, re-polishing the old and exploring the new. Big news is that the long awaited album will be finished by Christmas. Yes, by Christmas! Well, maybe not quite packaged up and on store shelves but damn close. Look for a big release party early next year.
In the mean time, let’s vote out some political relics, pray for rain and try, over Xmas, to buy as little useless crap for dear friends and family as we possibly can.

welcome to the new
September 1, 2007Hi and welcome to the fold’s new online home. The scaffolding is still well and truly up around this construction zone, but expect in the near future to see some new downlaods, upcoming gigs and more appearing here.
For now, you could always visit our Myspace page.
And lastly, a question:
“You mean you don’t know what an interrobang is ‽”
