Beaches & Walks
We’re spoiled rotten in the Eurobodalla with a bounty of off leash, dog friendly beaches. In and around the Bay you’ve got Durras Main Beach, Long Beach, Surfside Beach, Corrigans, Sunshine Bay, Wimbie Beach Reserve, Circuit, Pretty Point, Mossy and Broulee. Bengello Beach and South Head Beach near Moruya Heads and Congo near Bingi are also great options.
Closer to Narooma, try the Mill Bay Boardwalk, a flat 350m long boardwalk with a great view [stingray spotting comp optional!]. The NATA Oval just over the bridge is a fully fenced, full time dog-friendly space [unless there is an event running] and is well loved by locals as a safe and social spot for letting your dog have a good run.
You can find the full list of off-leash and timeshare dog-friendly beaches here. The Eurobodalla also has designated horse riding areas which you can find here.
Pet-Friendly Cafes & Spots for a Bevvie
We’re a pet loving shire here in the Eurobodalla so it’s going to be tough to find a place where pets aren’t welcome but here are some idea’s the next time you’re looking to grab a coffee or bite with your furry friend.
Start off with a brew at Three66 Espresso Bar where you can dine in or choose something from their ‘grab and go’ menu. [Pause for a glorious view of Mosquito Bay.] Next, hit The Mossy [your doggo might even get pap’d and added to the Mossy Possy insta page!] or The Boat Shed for a relaxed breakkie. Sight see in Mogo and finish with a visit to Grumpy & Sweethearts which has a lovely big outdoor area [and water bowls to hydrate].
If you’re feeling like lunch by the water, Starfish in Batemans Bay is a good option. The oldest restaurant in town, you can pitch up on one of their outdoor tables and watch the water over a wood-fried pizza. JJ’s At The Marina is also a lovely waterside spot to get your seafood hit. For fish and chips head to The Boatshed for some takeaway on the foreshore.
For a bevvie with your best mate, you can’t go past a locally brewed beer at Broulee Brewhouse or the dog-friendly beer garden with river view at the Moruya Waterfront Hotel. Tilba Valley Winery & Ale House with their expansive garden and outdoor tables makes for a lovely afternoon. Do a wine tasting, sit in the sun and enjoy a view of the vines or drop by on the weekends for some live music. End your day with The Dromedary Hotel in Tilba- a classic old pub with a great little menu and a welcoming vibe.
Things to Do
Take to the sea and head to the Narooma Marina and hire a dog-friendly boat or canoe. You don’t need a licence and they supply [super cute] dog life jackets! Whilst you’re in Narooma visit Australia Rock for sweet photo opp.
Pet-Friendly Accomodation
Abode Malua Bay, a short drive from Batemans Bay centre, allows pets if you’re looking for self contained accommodation. The Isla has a groovy, retro feel and has one dog friendly room available via direct request. Caravan parks like NRMA Batemans Bay Holiday Resort and Discovery Parks Narooma Beach are great options for dog and family friendly trips that won’t break the budget. You can check out more accommodation options here.

For animal supplies try Petstock in Batemans Bay; Harrisons Horse Pet Rural and Turnbull’s in Moruya, and Balls of Fluff Pet Supplies in Batehaven.
Adoption, Volunteering and Welfare Services
Considering adoption or want to make a difference? Animal Welfare League Eurobodalla Branch offers pet adoption, low-cost desexing, and fosters animals. They host annual events like their car boot sale in March and the Annual Tailwaggers Walk on the third Sunday in September. The branch is run completely by volunteers and are always looking for people who are interested in volunteering, donating or becoming foster carers. RSPCA Eurobodalla is also always looking for volunteers who are interested in joining their Eurobodalla Supporter Group.
For wildlife rescue, Wires Mid South Coast Branch works to protect and care for sick, injured or orphaned animals, often needing extra helping hands to keep up with local efforts. They cover from Milton in the North to Tilba.
Check out pets who are looking for new homes via the Eurobodalla Shire Council website here.
