NAIDOC stands for National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee, and while it began as a day of protest and reflection, it’s now a week of celebration, and connection. It’s roots stem from the 1938 Day of Mourning.
The theme for 2025 is The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, asking us to celebrate and acknowledge the past whilst centring the future ahead and the people and communities driving it.
There are plenty of ways to mark NAIDOC Week here in the Eurobodalla. From events and gatherings to workshops and moments to listen and learn, we’ve rounded up a few ways you can show up, support and celebrate.
