Description
Hi, I’m Angela. Nice to meet you.
First and foremost, I’m human, just like you. This is central to how I work. I approach each person as an individual, and I genuinely want to understand your unique story. I don’t see myself as the typical ‘strategy’ psychologist. Instead, I see my role as a trauma therapist, and my main focus is for us to get to the root cause of your suffering. I want to work with you to understand why you feel the way you do, so we can address the underlying issues together—rather than just applying a temporary fix.
I’ve trained with the Centre for Perinatal Psychology in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health, as well as in Perinatal and Infant Loss. I’m one of only 90 psychologists in Australia specifically trained by this centre to work with people during the perinatal period and with a variety of pregnancy, birth and parenting related challenges. I have also undertaken advanced training in EMDR (therapy) and continue to progress through additional advanced level accreditation.
A bit about me as a person: I’m also a parent, and I’ve been on the roller-coaster of learning how to navigate the complexities of parenthood. I come to the work that I do with my own lived experience of difficult times and can deeply understand the vulnerability that comes with this. I’m also navigating family life and a career, so I can appreciate the feeling of juggling all the balls.
I welcome diversity in every form and aim to create a safe, neurodiversity-affirming, inclusive space for everyone—regardless of gender, ability, neurotype, or sexuality.
I wish you well on your journey.
