Kaleula Head Reserve
This reserve in Kiama is pet-friendly and has a lovely short coast walk and epic views over the Pacific Ocean.
Kiama’s coastline can be considered pretty dramatic with rocky shores and stunning blue waves so this a perfect spot to take it all in. It’s also an excellent location to take that Insta-worthy photo of you and your four-legged friend with a cracker background. Hello, new profile piccy.
Accessible from Gwinganna Avenue from the south end of Kiama, it overlooks Kendall’s Beach, one of Kiama’s quieter beaches that is popular with families of youngsters.
After spending some time strolling through the reserve you can also hit up Kiama’s little blowhole a 10-minute walk south along Boanyo Ave before turning left onto Tingira Cres.
Kaleula Head Reserve is perfect for letting your puppers stretch their legs just make sure to comply with the local council's conditions of use.
Conditions of use:
- Dogs must remain under effective control at all times by a person over the age of 16 years.
- Owners and handlers are responsible for their dog's actions.
- Dogs must be registered and identified by wearing a collar and tag.
- Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside the designated area.
- Dog faeces must be immediately removed and properly disposed of in bins provided.
- Greyhounds, dogs declared dangerous and restricted breed dogs are prohibited.
- Owners and handlers must comply with the Companion Animals Act 1998 and these conditions of use.
- Members of the public accessing the dog off-leash area as a recreational activity are advised that Council uses defends afforded to it under the Civil Liability Act 2002.
