Description
Illawarra Live Steamers
We run miniature steam trains giving the young at heart train rides.
The Illawarra Live Steamers is a non-profit organisation that operates a miniature (5") railway across from Stuart Park at North Wollongong, N.S.W., Australia, offering miniature steam train rides.
On the 4th Sunday of each month (except December) we run our trains, giving rides to the young at heart public. The gates open about 8:30 and trains usually run from 10:00 until mid afternoon. Each passenger pays $2 for the 4 to 7 minute train trip.
There is no cost to enter our beautiful picnic grounds and use our tables, BBQ's and toilet facilities. We have a canteen that sells snacks, drinks and ice cream so you won't go hungry.
Sorry, but dogs are not allowed in the park with the exception of Guide Dogs and/or Assistance dogs.
Safety regulation require EVERYONE riding the trains must wear enclosed footwear. Persons in bare feet, thongs, sandals or open toe footwear will NOT be permitted on the train.
Please note that for safety reasons and the comfort of others, ball games are not allowed.
