From classic cheeseburgers to over-the-top creations piled high with extras, these local burger joints know how to build a burger made for the ‘gram!
Joe’s Milkbar
This Albion Park burger joint has earned cult status with both locals and visitors. The burgers are juicy but still rockin’ those crispy lace edges, the buns are housemade, and the chippys are fresh and perfectly salted. They’ve also got chicken burgers, tenders, and other tasty bites to keep everyone happy.
Glory Days Takeaway
A real throwback vibe here from the menu to the fit-out and even the burgers themselves. Think burgers with the lot [including beetroot of course], chicken + gravy rolls and vegan and vego options. And if you are taking a piccy for the gram here, make sure to snap it right in front of the iconic ‘Oxford Tavern’ sign, for the mems!
His Boy Elroy
Doesn’t matter if it’s brekkie, lunch or dinner, there’s a burger here that’ll have your followers drooling. The specials are next level and the milkshakes, loaded fries and cocktails don’t mess around either.
2 Smoking Barrels
Hot damn, the burgers at this American barbecue joint in town pack a punch! Dirty Mike’s cheeseburger always hits the spot, but if you’re chasing something that’ll blow up on the socials, the Double Barrel Burger is where it’s at. Double the meat, double the likes… or so the algorithm says.
Sneaky Burger
Not only are the burgs at Sneaky in Wollongong and Albion Park easy on the eyes, but they are also easy on the wallet too. Cheesy’s are only $8.50 and the most expensive burger on the menu, The Fat Sanchez is still only $16 and is honestly a massive [and mad delicious[ feed.
Chicko’s Figtree
Legendary schnitty burgers that both look and taste divine. Or for something different you can swap out the schnitzel for some tenders, the African tenders are a total winner in our books.
Get Stuffed Chicken Shop
Right on the Marina in Shell Cove. Grab a burger with the lot, a Portuguese chicken burger or a schnitzel burger and park up on the grass by the water. Then get snappin’ and munchin’ ‘til your heart’s content.
J. Winnfield at Principle Brewing
A brewery with a burger truck that totally slaps? Say less. The menu covers beef, chicken, veggie and pulled pork burgers, all packed with flavour. The Kath & Kimchi burger is a showstopper that’ll have you saying ‘Look at moi’.
Utopia Coffee House
The cheeseburger and buttermilk fried chicken burger on the menu are always a top choice. As are their BOTW [burgers of the week] which can range from a tropical peri peri burger to a succulent Greek lamb burger and everything in between. Opa!
RÜH Cafe
Both their Wollongong and Bulli locations are slinging out burgers that keep our taste buds satisfied, our tummies full and our sosh meeds looking hawt! The coffee here is mighty tasty and very photogenic as well
Papi’s Social Club
When their OG Thirroul spot shut down, we were worried these fat, flavour-filled burgers were gone for good [from our mouths and our feeds]. But now that Papi’s Social Club is here, we can breathe easy again. Gawsh we love these bad boys of the Illawarra burger scene.
Resin Brewing
Cheeseburgers, chicken burgers, pork burgers, veggie burgers… heck yeah. Throw in a fresh brewski and you’ve got a thirst trap [literally] guaranteed to pull in all the likes.
SoCo Kitchen & Bar
Serving flavours, drinks, music, and incredibly friendly service, inspired by the Southern states of North America and beyond, we can vouch that the burgers here are a good shout. As is everything else on the menu, really.
Stacks Eatery
Take a selfie on the beach at Kiama Down’s then take another selfie next to one of the marvellous creations at Stacks. Grab a smoothie to add even more colour and excitement to your layout, hehe.
Ooo we’re hankering for a bite of a burger now!
