Gotta love celebrating local people, in local business! Marlowe Richards, an outstanding executive at Grand Pacific Homes, recently bagged the ‘Best Executive’ award at the Illawarra Women in Business 2023 awards. Let’s take a look at Grand Pacific Homes, a local gem that’s been building dreams for over 15 years, and their award-winning team member, Marlowe.

The Grand Pacific Homes journey

Founded by brothers Mark and Clint O’Connor, Grand Pacific Homes is a design and construction company that has been delivering exceptional custom-built homes throughout the Illawarra for over 15 years. They’ve received multiple accolades, including the IWIB Best Executive award for Marlowe Richards and two HIA Awards for Best Duplex in NSW.

Born and raised in Thirroul, the brothers come from a long line of builders and have a combined experience of 45 years in the trade. They’ve created a wonderful local business people can trust – building between 12 – 15 projects a year.

Building dreams

Marlowe loves being part of a team that not only builds houses but also leaves a lasting legacy.

“Helping people build their dream home and leaving a legacy for generations to come throughout the Illawarra – that’s what makes my job so rewarding,” she says.

The dream team

When asked about her team, Marlowe couldn’t help but gush. “We’ve got a great team and fantastic clients. It’s like one big family, and that’s what makes coming to work every day so special.”

Grand Pacific Homes is not just about building homes; it’s about innovating the entire process. They use cutting-edge technology to streamline project management and give clients complete visibility of their projects. They also focus on educating the community about the building process, ensuring that clients feel safe, supported, and empowered throughout their journey.

Why choose Grand Pacific Homes?

Why should locals consider Grand Pacific Homes for their next big project?

“We’re not a large-scale project home company. Every home we build is unique and reflects the owner’s personal aesthetic. Plus, we’re all about excellent customer service,” Marlowe explains. And let’s not forget, they’re multi-award-winning builders! – pretty good reason if you ask us.

Living the Illawarra life

Marlowe loves the Illawarra lifestyle, from bumping into friends and clients wherever she goes to her favourite weekend activities.

“I love to swim at Thirroul beach or Austi pool, hang out at the Night Parrot or Juniper, and dine at Moo Minn or Uncle Bok’s. And let’s not forget a motorbike ride to Stanwell Tops!”

If you’re a coffee lover like Marlowe, you might want to check out her favourite spots: Black Market and Two Mountains in Thirroul, Earth Walker in Coledale, and Moore Street General in Austi. Great tips, thank you Marlowe!
