Thirroul Beach Playground
Our playgrounds have reopened. People using these spaces must continue to follow NSW Government guidelines for public health and social distancing.
Explore this popular park, Thirroul Beach Playground, next to Thirroul Pool and Beach! Thirroul regional playground has a giant net dome, a flying fox, slides, swings and climbing items for a broad range of ages. Created with the help of local children, this playground includes a stone elephant's head that was inspired by an early circus that used to visit Thirroul village.
Why you should go:
- For the babies and early walkers there are baby swings, lots of rubber soft fall to crawl or walk around on, low level pieces of interest such as the large stone elephant and the grasses and a variety of textures such as lawn and wood bark to explore.
- For children learning to climb there is a step, platform and metal slide which is low enough for Mum or Dad to reach the child from the ground and a net climber.
- For older children including teens there is a large rope pyramid to climb on (lovely view from the top), a large round swing which can hold several teens swinging daringly high and a flying fox.
- There is also a wooden balance beam, round-about and metal hexagonal drums which are great fun after rain when the children love to splash their hands in the little puddles that form on the top.
- For bike and scooter riders there is a concrete pump track i.e. a circular track with little hills to go up and over and round. There is also a path which goes all the way around the park which children love to ride round.
