Googong Foreshores – London Bridge Walk

There are plenty of beautiful walks to be had all around the Googong Foreshores. The London Bridge Walk is probably one of the most popular because it takes right over the stunning London Bridge Arch, a fab spot for an Insta shot if we ever did see one!
The trail is about 3.4km for a round trip and takes about 2 hours. It is mostly flat, so it’s a good walk for kiddos of primary school age and older. Just keep an extra eye out when crossing the bridge.
The carpark at the entry also has toilets, public BBQs and a picnic area, so you can make it a whole day out.

There is so much to love about this one.
It is right in the heart of Queanbeyan, so you won’t have to go far for a family day out. The walk runs alongside the river, offering stunning views and a chance to spot all the cute duckies and other wildlife [maybe even a platypus if you’re extra lucky]. It’s paved, so it’s ideal for prams and bikes, and there are cafes along the way to keep you fuelled.
PLUS, there’s a fun playground, complete with a splash zone.
Hopefully, all that’ll get the kiddos all worn out!
Bicentennial Park Loop
This walk is a winner because it gives off those proper bush vibes while still being in the suburbs.
It’s a short 1.5km stroll with plenty of playground fun along the way. The kids can ride their bikes or scooters on the paved paths too.
Just a heads up though, if you venture off into the grasslands, there have been sightings of wriggly sticks [aka snakes] in the past, so stay alert!

Phwoar, there are some cracker views to be had on this walk.
Although it’s an uphill-er, the path is clear, and the views all over Queanbeyan at the top are totally worth it. You may even be fortunate enough to spot a wallaby in the surrounding bushlands, so make sure to keep those eyes peeled.
All up it’s around 3.9km to the top and back and is best suited for school-aged kidlets.
Molonglo Gorge
If you’ve got older kiddos who love a challenge, the 6km return journey along the Blue Tiles Walk is a winner.
Just keep in mind there are some steep and narrow sections, and signage is pretty minimal. Stick to the main trail closest to the river. With a few rocks to scramble over, it’s a short but exciting adventure. Plus, doggos are welcome, so everyone in the family can come along!
At the end of the 3km halfway point, there’s a nice picnic spot where you can kick back and enjoy some snacks. Just remember, there’s no drinking water available, so pack plenty!

Encourage your little budding artists’ passions with this funky walk that’s like a gallery visit and workout all rolled into one.
There are loads of interesting murals, sculptures and a whole lane that’s an ‘Open Air’ Gallery.
The walk only takes about half an hour total but there’s plenty of opportunity to stop at the shops, restaurants and cafes along the way.
Glenburn Heritage Trail

A bit less known than some of the other walks but still absolutely worth a mention.
It’s a longer one at 10km but don’t worry it’s mostly flat, well-marked, and only has a few gentle inclines. Along the way, you’ll pass some fascinating local history like an old homestead and gravestones dating all the way back to the 1800s. FYI, these sites aren’t maintained so best to look but don’t go inside.
And be mindful of the nearby Clay Shooting Club, definitely avoid wandering into that area too.
You’ll also find the Burbong Trail here, similar in length and difficulty, or you can tackle the Precinct Loop which combines both trails for an extended adventure.
