5 Awesome Things To Do In The Queanbeyan Region This Summer

SHARE

Summer is here and we’re making the most of it.

With sunshine, the great outdoors and so many fun things to do, we really do live in an amazing spot to kick back and enjoy the season.

We’ve rounded up 5 awesome ways to make the most of summer, from getaways to gatherings, foodie fun, and more.

Let’s go!

1 :: Go Bush

A summer camping trip with the crew is always a good time, especially towards the end of the season when the weather is Goldilocks.

Sure, you could dust off the old canvas and poles, but if it’s time to level up your next bush trip, check out the local legends at Resort Trailers.

They build fully custom camping trailers to match your style…so good!

Plus, they design other trailer types, like trailers for boats and jet skis if you’re getting on the water this summer.

They also offer servicing, repairs, and rego checks. Give them a buzz to chat about your vision.

Now, all that’s left is to pick the perfect camping spot, load up the Esky, and pack the sleeping bags. Then you’re set.

2 :: Treat Your Skin

If your skin took a bit of a hit from the stress of the silly season [we get it], it’s probably time to show it some TLC.

Platform Six in Bungendore has all the treats your body could want, from top to toe.

Think body contouring, skin tightening, hair removal, needling, facials, lash and brow services, massage, spray tanning, teeth whitening, nails, services just for the fellas and soooooo much more.

Seriously, whatever treatment is on your mind, the wonderful team here probably offers it.

It’s basically a one-stop shop for all things skin and body, and honestly, it’s worth making the most of, not just in summer but all year round!

3 :: Weekend Getaway For Festival Fun

If a getaway to the coast sounds like a good idea, here’s the perfect excuse!

The Eat Festival in Merimbula might not technically be in summer. Still, it kicks off in early March, which is close enough, so we’re counting it. Hehe.

Four days of paddock-to-plate and tide-to-table experiences celebrating the food, heritage, and natural beauty of the Sapphire Coast.

How good is that?

There’s plenty of foodie goodness to check out, from shucking school to craft beer journeys and the totally fun-sounding oyster and spoon race.

Here are some accommodation ideas so there’s a comfy spot to crash after a full day of sipping and slurping.

4 :: Get To Googong Foreshores

There’s lots  to see and do at this special wildlife sanctuary.

Pack the rods for a spot of fishing, or bring the bikes for a cruise along the paths. Stroll by the water, take a dip in the designated swimming zone or paddle through in a kayak or canoe.

Fill up a picnic basket with goodies from a local deli, or grab some meat from a butcher and fire up the BBQs in the picnic area.

Heaps of great ways to spend a summer’s day here

5 :: Brunch It Out

We love a slow summer morning, and what pairs perfectly with that?

Brunch, of course!

We could wax lyrical about all the reasons to cherish this not-quite-brekkie, not-quite-lunch meal, but we’ll spare you the novel.

And luckily, we’ve got a list of great spots in the region to get our fix, like Vanilla at Altenburg for a relaxed sanctuary feel, The Gathering Cafe for a top-notch cuppa, and The Mill Cafe with loads of outdoor space for the fam… and the list goes on.
