By Land, Foot or Sea: Your Guide to Whale Watching on the Sapphire Coast

Whale watching season has officially begun! From May through to September, the Sapphire Coast becomes a front-row seat to one of nature’s most breathtaking shows- the annual whale migration.

We’re lucky to have so many ways to witness and celebrate these gentle giants. From the expansive views of Long Point walk and Tathra Head Lookout to the self-guided Killer Whale Trail in Eden, there’s no shortage of vantage points or stories to discover.

Take a stroll along the Bundian Way Whale Dreaming Trail– a short, scenic walk with a big payoff, offering stunning views across Turemulerrer [Twofold Bay]. Or get up close on the water with Bermagui Broadbill Fishing & Whale Watching Charters or Coastal Adventures in Bermagui, Merimbula or Eden and experience the magic of whale song and splash in real time.

And don’t forget to mark your calendars! The Eden Whale Festival is back on the 3–5 October, celebrating culture, conservation and community.

However you like to whale watch, there’s no better time [or place] to do it! Check them all out below.

If you’d like to support whale conservation in Australia you can donate to Marine Conservation Australia.
