A Justice of the Peace (JP) is something that we all need from time to time.
Did you know that all JP’s are registered with the NSW Government public register and you can search by postcode, name, day available and even language?
Pretty handy right?!
Some things to consider when contacting a JP for their services:
- Reach out to JPs during a reasonable time – 8am to 6pm.
- Ask when and where they’re available to help with JP services.
- If you’ve got a lot of documents for signing or certifying, let them know ahead of time as you might need to book a slot.
- Make sure all your paperwork is ready, and don’t sign anything before you meet.
- Have your ID handy just in case, and remember JPs aren’t there to give legal advice.
