Get your art on! Held each year in March, Sculpture Bermagui is an outdoor art and sculpture exhibition set against the beautiful backdrop of Horseshoe Bay.

The Blue Pool in Bermagui is one of the prettiest ocean-fed rock pools on the coast making it a great option for a kid friendly activity. The adjacent wading pool is ideal for little ones, while the larger pool offers safe swimming and snorkelling with marine life like fish, sea stars, and anemones. They’ll have a great time spotting the sunbaking seals and other sea life.

Plus, there are handy facilities and a scenic viewing platform for taking in the views or spotting whales in the winter.

Bruce Steer Pool in Bermagui is a lovely spot for families, offering calm, netted waters that are great for kids to have a splash and enjoy the water safely.

With shaded seating, easy parking, and all-abilities access, it’s a convenient and welcoming place for everyone to enjoy a swim.

Sign your kids up for Camel Rock Surf School! Perfect for ages 5-10 and all skill levels, this 3-day program teaches kids how to stand up on a surfboard while building ocean awareness.

It’s a fun way for them to gain confidence in the water and enjoy the beach during the school holidays.

Kianinny Bay is a great family-friendly spot, offering a lush picnic area, BBQ facilities, and a small playground for kids. It’s a fun place to swim and explore, with opportunities to spot local wildlife, including stingrays and native birds.

The sheltered waters and nearby jetty make it a popular spot for swimming, while the surrounding natural beauty provides a relaxing setting for picnics and wildlife watching.

Tathra’s all-abilities playground is a fantastic spot for kids of all abilities to enjoy, featuring an inclusive carousel, basket swing, flying fox, trampoline, and more.

With pathways and picnic tables designed for accessibility, it’s the perfect place for families to spend time together. Located next to the skatepark in Taylors Square.

If you’re looking for something different for the kids this Summer, Kianinny offers exciting activities like their flying fox, archery lesson, mini gold and more.

Their Day Camp Program for kids aged 6-12 during the school holidays is a great option whether you’re staying onsite or live locally. The kids are in for an active, adventure-filled day!

For families looking to fish and spot wildlife, the heritage-listed Tathra Wharf is top-spot. The calm waters around the wharf are perfect for fishing, and during spring (August to November), families can witness migrating whales, including humpback and southern right whales, providing an unforgettable marine experience.

Additionally, the area offers opportunities to explore local wildlife, making it a great spot for kids to connect with nature. Mum and Dads can grab a coffee fix at the adjoining Wharf Local cafe and don’t forget to drag the kids to the Museum up the top, to learn about the region’s maritime history.

The Tathra Headland Walk is an easy stroll for families, covering just 300 metres. This short walk offers stunning views, especially during the whale migration from August to November. Stop and play eye spy for seals, dolphins and seabirds.

The pathway is accessible for all abilities and connects the Tathra Headland with the historic Tathra Wharf.

Pack a picnic and your togs and take the kids for a splash! Open 7 days a week, the Bega Pool also offers lots of programs from the school holidays to learn to swim and accessible swimming classes.

Visiting SECCA offers kids a fantastic opportunity to engage with art in a fun and interactive way. Guided by friendly art educators, children can participate in hands-on art-making activities inspired by current exhibitions.

Each week of the nine-week program focuses on a different medium, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and clay work. Families can also enjoy a special exhibition showcasing the children’s selected works at the end of the program. Additionally, exploring the gallery outside of the program is a great activity for kids, providing them with a chance to appreciate art and creativity in a welcoming environment.

Mitchies Jetty is a no brainer if you’re looking for a kid-friendly beach. It has really calm, shallow areas, making it an ideal spot for swimming, stand-up paddle boarding, and canoeing.

With no waves and the option to snorkel, kids can enjoy a safe, fun day, and when the tide is high, they’ll love jumping off the jetty. There’s also a coffee cart in the mornings run by a lovely crew.

There’s nothing better than getting the kids out on the water, and Sapphire Coastal Adventures offers unforgettable cruises in Bermagui, Merimbula, and Eden.

Whether it’s whale watching during the season or spotting dolphins, stingrays, and other marine life, every trip promises fun and excitement for the whole family.

The 70,000-litre Oceanarium at Merimbula Aquarium is a must-see for kids, showcasing an incredible variety of local and tropical marine life across 28 tanks.

From sharks and octopuses to colourful tropical fish and shrimp, it’s a living theatre of the deep that will captivate young explorers. Fish feeding time is especially exciting, as the tanks come alive with action and you can learn more about these fascinating creatures!

Potoroo Palace offers a unique opportunity for kids to get up close and personal with wildlife. They can hand-feed kangaroos, emus, and native birds that freely roam the park. Dedicated to conservation and education, Potoroo Palace is run by passionate volunteers, making it a special place filled with fun and learning.

After exploring, families can enjoy a meal at the Blue Wren Café. A visit to Potoroo Palace is a memorable way for kids to connect with nature!

Two words: amusement park – what more do you need? Magic Mountain is a ripping, fun-filled day for the kids. With a fantastic mix of rides and activities, there’s something for every age, from water slides and the toboggan run to the roller coaster and grand-prix racing cars.

Plenty of snack options from the kiosk and spots to relax, and best of all, kids aged 0-4 get in for free!

This 3.4 return walk starts by the Merimbula bridge and winds along the stunning coast, through mangroves and lush forest, ending at the lake and Sunny’s Kiosk. Along the way, there are plenty of spots where the kids can kick off their shoes and have a wade into the shallow, safe waters of the lake.

There are also some great fishing spots and plenty of opportunities for spotting local wildlife. The flat trail is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, making it ideal for a relaxing family adventure.

Take to the sea and have your own fun sea adventure with the kids! From Sunny’s kiosk you can hire a kayak, canoe, boat, SUP or pedal boat and explore the beautiful oyster-rich estuary at your own pace!

You can stop for a picnic on a sandy spot during low tide, enjoy cruising around the lake, or try your hand at fishing for bream, whiting, flathead, or tailor. You can book online or drop by the Kiosk for same-day bookings.

Let the kids run free at Spencer Park. With a playground, expansive grassy areas, and the calm waters of Merimbula Lake at its foot, there’s plenty for them to explore and enjoy. Kids can paddleboard, kayak, or fish from the shore, while picnic spots and barbecue facilities make it perfect for group or family gatherings.

At low tide, take a stroll through the shallows to Bar Beach, where you can spot crabs, fish, stingrays, and pelicans along the way. The 1.8-kilometre Lake Street walk also provides a scenic stroll with breathtaking lake views.

Looking for a fun and unique activity for the kids? Wheeler’s Oyster Farm Tour offers a hands-on adventure where families can learn about the fascinating history of this iconic oyster farm. On Saturdays you can meet the oyster farmers and explore the state-of-the-art factory, while enjoying some tasty fresh Sydney Rock Oysters straight from Merimbula Lake.

A great way to blend learning with fun, this 60-minute tour is perfect for families. Be sure to book online, as spots fill up fast! Tours don’t run on public holidays, and ticket sales close at 10am on the day.

Set up on the lovely grassy areas for a picnic while the kids enjoy splashing around in the generously sized pools. There’s nothing quite like a community pool to enjoy during the summer!

This has to be one of the most spectacular spots on the Sapphire Coast. It doesn’t get much more beautiful than the vibrant turquoise waters of Pambula River Mouth. While you take in the stunning scenery, the kids can enjoy swimming, fishing, stand-up paddleboarding, or kayaking in this sheltered haven.

With changing facilities, accessible toilets, pathways, outdoor showers, and ample grassy areas, it’s a worthy setting for a delightful day out with the family.

Panboola Wetlands is a 77-hectare natural haven featuring beautiful freshwater billabongs, salt marshes, and grassy plains teeming with birdlife. Kids can explore the system of walking and cycling tracks, enjoy viewing platforms, and discover informative panels throughout the wetlands. The area includes the former Pambula racecourse and is adjacent to Ben Boyd National Park, making it a great spot for family exploration.

Don’t miss the biennial Ephemeral Festival, a one-day celebration of arts, creativity, and nature, featuring art installations, music, workshops, and craft demonstrations inspired by the stunning surroundings. Panboola Wetlands offers a fun and educational experience for the whole family!

The pool features a six-lane indoor heated 25-metre lap pool, a multi-purpose pool (that’s even more delightfully warm!), and a children’s splash pool with an irresistibly fun water spray feature. Kids can participate in swimming classes and school holiday activities, while families can enjoy the fully equipped gym, squash courts, and a relaxing kiosk area.
