The magical Southern Highlands is famous for its rolling green hills, cool‑climate vineyards and sweet villages. For locals it’s the perfect balance of a beautiful, peaceful country lifestyle, as well as providing a vibrant community.

Wander historic Berrima with its sandstone cottages and Australia’s oldest licensed pub, pop over to Moss Vale and Bowral for boutique shopping and spring’s show‑stopping Tulip Time blooms.

Foodies flock to the incredible restaurants and cellar doors throughout the whole region, while adventure‑seekers discover waterfalls in Morton National Park, glow‑worm tours after dark and mountain‑bike trails weaving through Wingello State Forest. Robertson dishes out country hospitality (and famous pies), galleries and lets not forget the big potato! Many hours are spent playing and scooting around Mittagong’s Lake Alexandra, and the villages of Burrawang, Bundanoon, Exeter through to Fitzroy Falls and Joadja offer loads of character, and each with a reason to visit.

Friendly locals, fab country markets, top‑notch schools and an easy train ride to both Sydney and Canberra.

Will The New Airport Impact Highlands Real Estate?

According to a Western Sydney Airport impact study, “The Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport, opening is just several months, will significantly impact the Southern Highlands and surrounding regions (like Wollondilly) by acting as a catalyst for investment in logistics, tourism, and agribusiness. It will enhance connectivity to international markets and create, over time, a high-skill jobs hub, driving demand for local business adaptation and infrastructure development, while presenting noise and land-use planning challenges.”
