Hey, I’m Ben!

My journey with coeliac disease began unexpectedly in 2020. What started as a gastro bug led to months of weird and unexplained symptoms like weight loss, stomach pains, mental health issues and fatigue. After countless tests, feeling like I was on death’s door and eventually thinking it was all in my head, finally I was given an answer: coeliac disease.

This brought a mixture of overwhelm, anxiety but ultimately, relief. In hindsight I had been struggling with years of mystery health issues. At last I was given a diagnosis. Little did I know it would be the start of a rollercoaster gluten free journey.

Going 100% gluten free has been life-changing for me, both physically and mentally. My passion for sharing this journey with others led to the creation of A Gluten Free Family on Instagram, a space where I connect with others navigating similar paths.

Hearing these stories inspired me to create A Gluten Free Podcast where I raise awareness of living with coeliac disease, the complexities of being gluten free and share stories and tips to help others.

We also launched A Gluten Free Evening in February 2024. It’s an opportunity to bring the gluten free community together and showcase great venues and businesses who truly understand our need for safe and delicious gluten free food.

For me, the gluten free community I’ve discovered has been a huge source of strength, and I’m excited to keep learning, sharing and evolving with you all - one chat at a time. Thanks for being here gluten free fam!
