Bong Bong Picnic Race Club Limited is a Company limited by guarantee of Members. The race club runs an annual race meeting and runs the Bong Bong Cup.

New Membership Application

Becoming a Member:

Applications for membership can only be accepted from individual persons, not a company or business.

Applications must be submitted on the appropriate application form which can be downloaded from the Club’s web site for printing (see below) or obtained from the Club’s Wyeera Office.  Please contact 0402 048 894 with any enquiries.

The Club has no corporate membership.

Current Members

The membership fees for current financial members for 2023 have been rolled over.  Membership will be due again on 30 June 2024.

Current financial members are entitled to purchase two members Race Day passes at $25 each and an additional four guest passes at $60 each.

For those of you I have emailed, your 2022 race day passes have been transferred to 2023 race day.

Former Members - Reduced Renewal Fee if Renewed by 30 June 2023

Members who did not renew in 2022 will need to pay their $35 annual membership fee.  (If this is not paid by 30th June 2023 an additional renewal fee of $65 will be due, totaling $100)

Upon payment you will be able to purchase two members Race Day passes at $25 each and an additional four guest passes @ $60 each.

Cost:

The Annual Subscription is $35.00 inc GST.  This entitles the Member to purchase 2 discounted passes to race day at the Members rate of $25.00 per pass.  Additional passes will be available at $60.00 per entry pass (maximum four). Membership is renewed on an annual basis (due 30 June). 

New and lapsed members seeking to reactivate membership are required to pay the Application Fee of $65.00 inclusive of GST in addition to the Annual Subscription.

The History of the Bong Bong Picnic Races 

The history of the Bong Bong Picnic Races has been published in a booklet titled "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow" and is now available to members and the community. The booklet was compiled by Club Life Member Alan Chittick and volunteers at the Club and charts the early days of Country Picnic Racing in 1886 through the War years, Leisurely Twenties, Revival in 1959, the years of Boom or Bust, to recent years when James Cummings won back to back Bong Bong Cups.

The stories include the heroic horses, trainers and riders who have made the headlines and are all included in the booklet along with the recent awards won by the Club and most importantly a final word on the future and how the Club has conquered the hill!
