Description
Melting Pot Theatre is Bundanoon’s very own theatre company, producing two full length plays a year.
Melting Pot Theatre is a sub-committee of the Bundanoon Community Association. The theatre group was established in 2012. The founding members wished to create theatre for the southern villages and towns within the beautiful Southern Highlands.
The aim of Melting Pot Theatre is to bring original and innovative work to the stage in the Southern Highlands.
Our theatre group is totally inclusive. We invite all local members to write, act or direct. We offer a variety of events for all ages.
Crash Test Drama is an evening of eight ten minute plays, written by locals, acted by locals, directed by locals. The afternoon begins at two o’clock with all artists turning up to audition and rehearse. At five o’clock the audience arrives to witness an eclectic evening of comedy and drama. This “script-in-hand” event allows anyone who has never been on stage previously to “have a go” in a non-stressful environment.
Melting Pot also runs a variety of full-length plays, and one-act plays, throughout the year. These events are fully rehearsed and directed. The tickets for all our events are priced minimally so that everyone can come and enjoy theatre.
Christmastime is of particular joy to our community. The Variety Show, produced by Melting Pot just before Christmas, is a night of comedy, music and much laughter. We invite all members of the community to join in and show off their talents.
During the year Melting Pot runs several workshops, giving everyone the opportunity to hone their skills in whatever area they choose. We are very fortunate to have within our group several professional and very talented artists who are happy to share their knowledge.
If this theatre group appeals to you, then, please, come and join us for much hilarity. Everyone is welcome. Please contact our convenor for more details about events.
