Open microphone at The Bundanoon Club! What are you waiting for?
BIGGER CROWDS AND MORE MUSOS
New Open Mic on Saturday
OPEN TO ALL AGES
OPEN TO ALL SKILL LEVELS
The enormous success of the Sunday Open Mic at Bundy Club has prompted the management to transfer the gig to Saturday night.
According to the host, Adam Greenwood, the Sunday amateur night was growing so rapidly, it needed to be changed to a more convenient night for everyone.
“Open Mics are well known for taking place on Sundays, generally in the afternoon,” says Adam. “But we were getting more and more feedback from performers and audience members requesting the gig be changed to Saturday nights, and so we’ve acted on those requests.”
According to the popular Highlands' songwriter, the new day for the open mic will encourage more people to attend, and it’ll mean the live music night can be hosted till much later in the evening.
“It means we can party on well into the night."
The success of the Adam’s open mics in the Highlands can be gauged by how many amateur performers have gone on to land paying gigs.
According to Adam, “Every week I’m checking the local gig guides and seeing more and more familiar faces appearing at pubs and clubs. These artists initially came along to my open mics, and they’re now getting paid to perform. I’m just totally blown away by that, and I’m very happy for them.”
The only change with the open mic is that it’s gone from Sunday to Saturday. The same state-of-the-art sound system will be available, along with the dynamic lighting, the great atmosphere, and the very appreciative crowds.
“I’m more than happy to come in each week and set up the lighting, anything to support this initiative” says Dean Carey, the official Bundy Club lighting guy. “The lights not only provide a more professional environment, they encourage people to get up and dance. Now that the open mic is on a Saturday, the punters will be able to dance the night away."
The new Saturday Open Mic starts at 5pm, and bookings to appear on stage are essential.
“I believe we’re going to get a major influx of performers,” says Adam, “so it’s really important that musos and artists book early to guarantee a spot on stage.”
