Being a welcoming and friendly school with strong and valued community links. Our attractive, well-resourced school is set in beautiful, landscaped grounds fostering active lifestyles. Highly-qualified, dedicated staff deliver quality teaching and learning programs focusing on literacy and numeracy. Current innovative technologies such as SmartBoards are integrated into all our classrooms. Our small class sizes mean we meet the needs of each student's individual learning. Burrawang students practise the values of respect, self-reliance, responsibility, tolerance and cooperation. We combine with our partner schools in the Moss Vale Community of Public Schools to provide social, cultural and sporting connections, ensuring an enriching, successful transition to high school. We are committed to providing quality educational experiences to maximise each student's learning outcomes. We value every child in our care and your child is important to us.
Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.
Canteen
All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.
Uniforms
When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.
Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:
- meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation
- includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics
- is appropriate for the full range of school activities
- is suitable for all body shapes.

The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) is responsible for the curriculum, Kindergarten to Year 12, for all NSW schools.
For the primary years, NESA develops syllabuses for all subjects in 6 key learning areas:
- creative arts
- English
- human society and its environment (HSIE)
- mathematics
- personal development, health and physical education (PDHPE)
- science and technology.
Some primary schools may also offer languages.
NSW schools also offer special religious education and special education in ethics via approved providers, where available.
Like all NSW schools, we have developed teaching and learning programs to suit our local context and the needs of our students.

"I can’t sing the praises of this great little school enough. It was recommended to me by a local parent, and we decided to do an out of area application - we felt the dedicated focus of the teachers in a small school was right for us. And how right we were. The teachers, parents & students are absolutely stellar in every regard - we felt so welcomed by the school and the Burrawang community at large. The grounds are that of a storybook, the local pub is a major plus for socialising on a Friday afternoon. The efforts of the P&C to support extra curricular activities paralleled that of the independent school we were considering. If you are after more than your average primary school, this is the place."
