Christmas in the Highlands just hits different, especially when the ham and turkey are absolute showstoppers. If your idea of festive joy involves a glazed ham, a beautifully roasted turkey or cold slices piled high with mustard and loads of butter (same!), then this guide is for you.

We’ve rounded up the best spots across the Southern Highlands to order your Christmas ham, turkey and even the much-talked-about turducken. From award-winning local butchers to British-style Christmas classics, the Highlands is full of delicious options to make your festive feast easy, tasty and totally stress-free.

We’ll keep updating this list as more Christmas offerings land, so check back for the latest!

Bendooley Estate Larder

Bendooley Estate Larder have their own signature glazed ham available and orders will open from the 1st of December with cut-off on the 23rd.

But don’t stop there, you can also order slow braised lamb shoulder and a range of specially curated sides so all you need to do is pour the champagne!

2 Park Road Bowral

When it comes to delicious Christmas ham, 2 Park Rd is a Highlands institution. It’s so good, you want it aaaallllll year. This lovely local café is a hot spot for Chrissy ham!

They have whole, half or sliced ham available. Availability and cut off dates for 2025 are still being confirmed at the moment.

Baked in Berrima

Baked in Berrima is bringing the Christmas feast magic this year with a seriously delicious line-up. You can order a whole or half ham, a beautifully prepared turkey filled with chestnut and sage, and even a classic beef wellington for those wanting to elevate the table spread. Orders are open now — just DM them on Instagram or send an email to lock in your pick.

And if you’re looking to outsource the whole shebang, their full catering menu is also available to browse here, packed with all the festive favourites.

Hot Canary Gourmet Butchery

The Hot Canary Gourmet Butchery brings you top-quality pork from Cowra and beyond, using their award-winning, low-nitrite recipe, perfect for wowing even the pickiest eaters.

Their team is ready to help plan your Christmas feast. Choose from holiday classics like turkeys, ducks, quail, Italian Porchetta, yummy sides, plus locally-made condiments.

The ham is priced at $25/kg and sold as ready to glaze. Pre-order to get the right fit [and extra for leftovers!]. Pick-up in-store until Christmas Eve.

Bundanoon Butchery

These hams are award-winning, so you definitely need to get in quick to secure one of these beauties.

Order in store to make sure you “bags” your ham for Chrissy dinner.

Orders cut off dates for 2025 are yet to be released, but we reckon do it earlier if you can just so you can tick it off the list.

While you’re at it… order your fresh turkey – just chat to Hoppy about the size you would like – and be quick, these sell out fast!

Simon’s Gourmet Butchery

Looking for a traditional English Christmas?
Make your festive table taste like home with Pacdon Park’s English goodies! Pork pies, puddings, sausages and even pigs in blankets! Plus, Simon’s is now taking orders for gammon joints, gammon steaks and all your UK favourites.

And of course, all the Christmas classics are covered. Simon’s will have a huge range of free-range hams. Whole legs, half hams and boneless, along with fresh turkeys and the ever-popular turducken (or ducken… or honestly, whatever you want stuffed into whatever, they’re game!).

Pop in to see the team at Springett’s Arcade, or give Simon and the crew a call to chat through your Chrissy options. You can pre-order or pick up right up until Christmas Eve.

Highlands Meats

This friendly team of local butchers are taking pre-orders now for their 100% local pork from Cowra.

You can usually pre-order and pick up from the shop in Mittagong Marketplace, right up until Christmas Eve!

If you’re after a turkey, they do them fresh, boned, rolled. However you like. AND they’re free range!

Just pop in and ask for details.

Maugers Meats

This butcher’s free range, Australian pork is prepared and smoked in house on their premises.

Fresh turkeys are also available, a popular choice every year from locals, so you better get in touch with them to pre-order ASAP.

Pick up in either store [Mossy or Bowral] or they deliver too, handy!

Robertson Village Butchery

Robertson Village Butchery are taking orders for hams. They also have turkeys, pork and fresh chooks.

Pop in and see the guys in store for pricing. And be quick! They are selling fast.

IGA The Local Grocer Bundanoon

Formerly The Village Grocer & Store, these guys are famous for their quality hams, delish turkeys and even duck, so get in quick as they are bound to sell out before Christmas!
