How lucky are we to have a bunch of kickarse brewers in the Highlands who love creating delicious craft beer and super-cool places for us to hang out and drink said beer?!
Here’s your go to list of local breweries and when, where and how to get your hands on an amazing tasting brewski (or two…..or four).
1 :: EDEN BREWERY
We love how Jacob, the owner and Head Brewer of Eden Brewery in Mittagong is always experimenting and coming up with new craft beer flavours.
Along with their core range, the Eden team regularly release limited edition concoctions of deliciousness that are super-popular.
Brewery tours, local collabs, live music and a burger truck give this place a fun and funky community vibe.

2 :: SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS BREWING
From the rugby field to the brewery, Southern Highlands Brewing launched in 2015 after founders Cameron James and Ben Twomey met at the Bowral Blacks.
These guys have won a stack of awards – including a swag of Silvers for their Goodfather Porter, American Pale Ale and Tighthead IPA at the London Beer Competition, a stack of Silver and Bronze awards at the Australian International Beer Awards and a Gold at the Independent Brewing Awards [the Indies]! Awesome, right?

Delivery :: Yes, and it’s FREE for locals.

3 :: HIGHLANDER BEER & BREWING COMPANY
This awesome small-batch beer manufacturer makes quality hand-crafted beer in Robertson.
There’s no cellar door but you can order a case [or more] online to have this local brew delivered to your door, or head to these locals Listed below to wet your whistle.
THE FOLD LOVES // popping into Robertson Public House for some Highlander Pale Ale on tap.
Delivery :: Yes, across the Southern Highlands for free if you’re in Robertson or for a $10 flat fee to most other towns and villages.
On tap :: Moonacres Kitchen, Robertson Public House and Kitchen.
By the bottle :: Robertson Supermarket, Pizzas in the Mist.
4 :: WYADRA BREWING
This micro-brewery tucked away in Tallong makes their beer with rainwater only. Fresh!
Operated by husband and wife team, John and Kate Dall, their Day on the Paddock events are great value and popular with locals and visitors.
Book private tastings or fill up a long neck or a 2-litre growler with the Wyadra beer of your choice.
They also sell the full range of wines from Bendooley Estate, apple cider and a killer ginger beer – nice!
They have open doors on most weekends or otherwise are only by appointment, we recommend calling ahead before you plan your visit and keeping an eye on their socials for updates on events.

5 :: SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS HOME BREW
If, after working your way through those five local breweries, you’re all inspired to brew your own, get in touch with Southern Highlands Home Brew in Mittagong.
These guys have everything you need to get started. They run tons of interesting demonstrations, from beginners brewing and even sausage or sourdough making. They also work with the guys at Eden to host the Southern Highlanders Homebrewers club with regular meetings and new members always encouraged.
