How the Mali Brae Farm love story began
Lovingly run by the Dark family, Mali Brae Farm is a boutique wedding and event venue with a bespoke and personalised approach.
Originally purchased as a family home and an opportunity to escape the hustle of city life, Greg and Shelley Dark found 90 acres of farmland with a run-down cottage just aching for a transformation. Greg painstakingly restored the cottage for his family to reside in, and subsequently won numerous heritage awards for his efforts. It is this attention to detail and care that has transferred to how each and every wedding is handled.
At the heart of their ethos are integrity, meticulousness, and, above all, passion. Each member of the Dark family and the wider team brings complementary skills to this unique family-run business.
Initially starting with Greg’s energy and vision, and Shelley’s business and financial prowess, the Mali Brae Farm team has expanded with each person bringing their extraordinary talents together and creating new meaning to what a family-run business can achieve.
Together, their mission is to continue delivering a premium and personal experience for every client and ensure their event at Mali Brae Farm is everything they ever dreamed it could be.

Named in honour of the farm’s original settler from 1860, this wing of our venue perfectly blends rustic charm with modern elegance. It has a stunning curved bar with extensive views out over the valley, making it a unique setting for your small intimate wedding reception.
