We are up for anything that is going to create a better, cleaner, more positive future for the Southern Highlands, so we were excited to hear about a new, awesome community group whose focus is on creating just that!
WinZero is about bringing residents, businesses, government, community organisations, schools, producers and farmers together in an ‘all-in’ effort to achieve zero emissions in the Wingecarribee Shire by 2050.
And already we’re seeing some positive action….
Wingecarribee Shire Council have committed to establishing a Climate Change Advisory Panel – awesome!
WinZero is working with the Southern Highlands Key Stakeholders Group to create a ‘Resilience Hub’ in Mossy. What’s that? A workspace for people looking to increase economic opportunity locally in a way that ensures long-term sustainability. Very cool.
And there’s lots in the pipeline with WinZero working on how to make a community solar farm happen, processing waste locally, regenerative agriculture and more a reality in the Highlands.
Oh, and you can follow them on Facie and Insta – they share loads of practical tips and totally doable ways to reduce our carbon footprint. And sign up to their eNewsletter for up to date info on events, collabs and local initiatives.
These guys are a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers representing some super passionate local community groups:

Handing a healthier planet over to our kids. Tick. Tick. Tick.
And whatever your beliefs about climate change, we’re up for living in a cleaner, more sustainable environment, that’s for sure! Check out this vid to get more of an insight into WinZero and their vision for a greener and cleaner Southern Highlands.
