It’s where the locals go – it’s funky, it’s fun and you can eat, drink, shop, play, work and party in one fabulous spot!
We’re big fans of The Mill Bowral – such a great place to head to catch up with friends, grab a delicious bite to eat, taste test some local wines, hang out with the kids, find some bargains and even get your car washed, and it’s becoming a super popular spot for events.
See? Loads of what you need in one spot.
Here’s why we [and locals] love The Mill Bowral and why you guys should swing by if you haven’t already.

1 // Delish and cool food outlets and eateries
The Mill Café has long been a fan favourite locally – we love the open fireplace, soaring ceilings and kids play area, not to mention the yum food.
We are also lovin’ the al fresco dining options, bar and eateries out in the courtyard where you can choose to sit in the sunshine or in the shade.
This is where you can grab some deliciously healthy options from Veggie Nook or Cheeky Kebabs, amazing tasting authentic Vietnamese from Ms Pho Canteen, smoked meats and tasty local wines from Tractorless Vineyard, followed up with some kickbutt gelato from Sweet Retreat Gelato – sooooo good.
Merrigangs is the hip and happening’ spot nestled in the courtyard of The Mill block – a relaxed and funky bar and distillery serving up delicious drinks and a super chilled atmosphere. They host regular live music and we just love their new distillery tours.

2 // Unique and awesome space for a fab event
If you need to find a venue for an event coming up, choose from the bright and breezy courtyard or the gorgeous undercover deck space – both with the fab food options we mentioned above – great for parties.
The Mill Café is another gorgeous spot for a special occasion – we’ve seen it dressed up in its party clothes and it’s awfully pretty!
The Breezeway inside also has an exhibition space to showcase art or new products, and it’s a super spot for a private function.
The distillery at Merrigangs is also an epic spot for your next special event. Everything from weddings, birthdays, corporate events and in between. You can even spice things up by blending a class and events package. It’s your ticket to an unforgettable and unique experience!

3// The totally fab vibe of The Mill Cafe
Apart from the mega delish food and coffee, The Mill Cafe is just an ultra-rad place to pop a hang. We are always dying for one of their creamy and full-bodied cuppa joes, we adore all the child-friendly spaces, we wish we could eat their corn fritters pretty much every day for brekkie and one of our happy places is totes by their cosy, relaxing fire… ah lush!

4 // They have their own car park
We know that it can get a little hectic parking in Bowral, so it’s great that The Mill have their own car park directly behind the venue. Less stress!
5 // At the car wash!
Did you sing it? Betcha did!
Hey, there’s also Bowral Car Wash in The Mill’s car park, so you can get your car and your dog washed [yep! They offer dog washing services too] the next time you swing by The Mill for a bite to eat, a coffee catch-up or a sneaky shop.

6 // Find a bargain and pay it forward
Father Chris Riley’s Youth Off The Streets Op Shop is also part of The Mill and easily accessible from their car park – they even have allocated parking spots for op shoppers.
This quaint cottage is packed with vintage and second-hand goods.
There is a whole room of kids’ clothing and toys, and another room filled with linen and fabric for sewing.
Any profit these guys make goes into the work they do around supporting the disadvantaged and homeless.
7 // Dedicated play space for the kids
Yippee!! We LOVE a space that gets how important it is to keep the kids entertained [especially if they’re on a gelato high!].
It’s a kid-friendly space – the Courtyard itself has loads of space to run off that sugar-hit, plus there’s a chalkboard for budding Picasso’s and kids can easily entertain themselves.
8 // History buffs are catered for too!
Vinh Tran is the wonderful guy [always with a smile on his face] running the pass at Ms Pho Canteen at The Mill.
Get chatting to Vinh and you’ll discover a whole, other amazing side to this fab Highlander, including the fact that he runs the Military Museum next to the Bowral Car Wash on the other side of The Mill’s car park.
Focused on the history of the Vietnam War, Vinh saw the impact of the war firsthand and has some incredible insight and also an amazing passion for making sure we keep telling and learning from what he saw and experienced himself.
He also runs a business where he takes people for rides in military jeeps across the Highlands. Order a pho and have a chat to Vinh – you’ll love every second!

See? We told you The Mill Bowral is pretty spesh.
Lots of things to do, see, eat and drink.
Such a great place to catch up with family and friends. We love the buzz and that it’s right here in the Highlands.
Swing by to see and experience it for yourself. More details here.
