What’s better than sharing a few refreshing ales, a couple of cheeky cocktails, and delicious local wine with friends or family?

Doin’ it somewhere with a kickass view.

Relax with a delicious drink while looking across fields, gardens, vineyards and even water views [Yep! Even in the landlocked Highlands].

Here’s The Fold’s pick of where to head for drinks with a side of gorgeous vista in the Southern Highlands.

1:: Sutton Forest Inn

This family-friendly beer garden is probably one of THE best spots to watch a Highlands sunset, with the sun dipping behind the rolling hills. Such a special place to be on a warm, summer evening.

2:: Centennial Vineyards

A local and visitor favourite, swing by Centennial Vineyards Cellar Door for a wine tasting followed by a delicious wine on The Terrace overlooking the vineyards. Or just order a wine and head straight on out to The Terrace – such a great spot!

3 :: Robertson Public House & Kitchen

Right in the heart of charming Robbo nab a seat out in one of the outdoor spaces either out the front or around the side of the pub and watch country life go by. Or on a chilly day score a seat indoors in front of the fire and enjoy that crackling view.

4 :: Briars Inn

Perch yourself on the outdoor tables under the striped umbrellas at the front of this grand old dame of the Highlands for a view east across to the Wingecarribee River, and south towards the start of the Bong Bong Track.

5 :: Bendooley Estate Cellar Door

This fab addition to the Bendooley Estate family of beautiful buildings and stunning surrounds looks out over the vines….snag a spot near the fire pit for maximum al fresco vibes.

6 :: Mount Ashby Estate

This place is totally a vibe, entering via the long driveway with tall trees on either side, through to the beautiful verandah and outdoor space looking across the wonderfully manicured lawn, fringed by trees and surrounded by lovely old buildings. Order a cheese plate and a bottle of wine and relax…

7 :: Hickory’s Restaurant and Bar at Peppers Craigieburn

With a view across the golf course and manicured gardens up towards the Gib, settle into a spot on the verandah to watch the Gib change colour as the sun goes down behind the hotel.

8 :: Artemis Wines

You are definitely up close and personal with the vines at Artemis with their cellar door located right in the centre of their vineyard. It makes for a very chilled atmosphere and some gorgeous Insta moments!

9 :: Burrawang Village Hotel

Snap up a table in the beer garden for vistas across farmland towards the Wingecarribee Reservoir in the distance for those Highlands water views

10 :: Osborn House

Golden hour on the deck of The Bar at Osborn House with uninterrupted views over Morton National Park?  – Yes, please!

11 :: Dining at Milton Park

Sip on a tasty cocktail and enjoy some absolute fine dining whilst overlooking the gorgeous and historical Milton Park gardens. These are super impressive Highlands gardens, that’s for sure.

12 :: Ethos at Links House

Nab yourself a window spot here for views of green… literally, because it’s on a golf course, but also the views are gorgeously grassy. Inside and out this place is lovely.
