Like your caffeine with a side of alcohol? Here’s where to get some excellent espresso martinis in the Highlands.
We sent our fabulous Food + Wine Writer on a mission to discover who’s making delicious espresso martinis around here.
The verdict? Well, she hasn’t slept in four days, so they must be good!
Check out eleven venues below making and serving our favourite caffeinated coffee cocktail for when you need a little pick-me-up.
Now you can start and finish the day in the same way – with coffee!

1 :: Gin Trading Co at Bistro Sociale
The bar at Bistro Sociale is a hidden oasis.
The space is a stylish spot for after work drinks, and the gin menu is extensive.
But it’s their espresso martinis that will keep me going back for more.
The recipe includes Aussie-made Carter’s coffee liqueur. Divine!

2 :: Robertson Public House & Kitchen
You might not think of the Robbo Pub as the place to go for a delish espresso martini.
But you’d be wrong!
It’s charmingly rustic, the service is friendly, and the food is yum.
Verdict on the martini?
Would definitely go back for another one.

3 :: Royal Hotel Bowral
If the weather’s good, you’re going to want to pull up a chair and while away the afternoon in the Royal’s beer garden out the back.
The only thing that could take your arvo to the next level?
Having one of their on-tap espresso martinis in your hand.

4 :: Berrima Vault House
Now THIS is an ingredient list :
- Ketelone Vodka
- Brookies Gin
- Wattleseed Liqueur
- Marie Brizard Coffee Liqueur
- Espresso
Roll up for Cocktail Hour at Berrima Vault House on Fridays to partake…….yum!

5 :: Harvey’s Bar at the Gibraltar Hotel
Tucked away in the Gibraltar Hotel, you’ll find the intimate Harvey’s Bar.
There are a few seating options, so grab your martini and cosy up by the roaring open fire, perch at the bar and mingle with fellow locals, or pull up a table on the terrace.
6 :: The Bundanoon Hotel
The Bundy Pub’s makeover a couple of years ago means it’s looking lovely and slick inside, but thankfully it’s still got that relaxed vibe we know and love so well.
With such a great outdoor area (and a pool!) for kids, this is the perfect spot for mum to get her afternoon caffeine pick-me-up, martini-style.

7 :: The Nook Bar at Peppers Manor House
There’s so much to do at Peppers Manor House that it would be easy to skip having a drink at the Nook Bar.
In my opinion? Don’t!
It’s a cosy, intimate spot that’s perfect for a date or special occasion, and their espresso martini is a great way to start or end your evening.

8 :: The Robertson Hotel
If you’re looking for a side of luxury with your martini, this is the place to be.
The Robertson Hotel’s Gatsby-style bar has a fireplace, ambient light and elegant furnishings that’ll transport you back in time.
Or relax in one of the oversized sofas by yet another fireplace in the Salon. Dreamy.
9 :: The Taphouse
The relaxed but classy atmosphere at Moss Vale’s Taphouse makes it the perfect place for an afternoon cocktail.
If you’re feeling social, grab a delicious espresso martini and sit at one of the big communal tables and make some friends.
If not, settle into one of their couches on the side.

10 :: The Sutton Forest Inn
Known around here as The Sutto, this inn has been in the area since 1936. It’s a classic country pub with a warm, relaxed atmosphere and smiley staff.
The beer garden on a sunny day is the ideal spot for sipping your pimped-up coffee and letting the kids run wild.
