Could this be any more dreamy Highlands vibes?
Dating back to 1928, Links House is a wonderfully adorable boutique hotel tucked away in the quiet nook of Burradoo. We adore the north-facing view that overlooks the lush greens and fairways of Bowral Golf Course, not to mention the gardens that are an absolute showstopper pretty much all year round.
And when we heard they were offering picnics on the lawn packages for locals and visitors, well we pretty much became the heart eye emoji personified.
Stretching out on a rug, nibbling on goodies, and enjoying a glass of something delightful while gazing at gorge green surroundings, we’re pretty sure that’s practically a national pastime in the Highlands. And in our books, Links House is undeniably an iconic spot for a perfect picnic!
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of eating a meal at Ethos, the restaurant inside Links House, then you know just how incredible head chef Jason Hughes makes every bite.
And all that incredible-ness can also be found in the picnic menu and we’re seriously drooling just writing about it.
Think fresh and flavourful deli sandwiches, cheese and condiments, pate, olives, cakes and macarons. Yum! AND every picnic comes with your choice of bubbles or a red or white.
All your crockery is sorted and the swag rugs are insta-gorgeous. Oooo imagine all the piccys you could take here?!
These picnics aren’t just for cutesy couples’ dates or touristy fun, they’re also popular with book clubs, bridge clubs, hen parties, baby showers, parent groups, and any kind of fun get-together.
Recently the team at Links House helped set up a picnic for a proposal and we’re swooning over the romance of it all!
As Links House is known for its gorgeous wedding set-ups, we also love the idea of a picnic as a post-wedding recovery get together. All your guests catch up with the pals they made the night before reminiscing on all the fun they had in such a lovely relaxed environment.
It’s also really cool that Links House is a short walk from downtown Bowral, meaning there’s no argument about who has to be designated driver if you’re coming from town.
Just call us Yogi Bear because we’re absolutely obsessed with the idea of picnics at Links House now.
Just an FYI you need to book 24 hours in advance. And whilst you’re booking your picnic we totally wouldn’t judge if you booked yourself a night’s stay at the hotel as well for an ultimate staycation.
Picnic in the arvo, dinner at Ethos in the evening, a night relaxing in one of their dreamy rooms, bountiful brekkie and coffee in the morning, followed by a round of golf across the road to end the day…. Heaven much?
To find out more about these gorgeous picnics as well as all the other wonderful offerings at Links House you can give them a call on 02 4861 1977. You can also contact them via their website and keep up to date with all the amazing things happening through their socials.
