How good’s High Tea?

Gone are the days when it was just for the ladies who lunch. Now, it’s a fun outing for everyone!

There’s something about those tiered platters of savoury and sweet treats that just gets us going.

And of course, we’ve gotta have it matched with a warm tea or coffee [and if we’re lucky, something stronger too].

High tea is totally Southern Highlands, with that charming country vibe that’s just so us. It’s like this part of the world was made for enjoying a scone in one hand and an English Brekkie brew in the other.

Check out our list of spots around town where you can get your high tea fix in the Highlands.
Pinkies up! It’s time for a tea party!

Peppers Manor House Sutton Forest

This High Tea is pretty well-loved around town and the folks at Peppers Manor House are well known for catering to tastes and preferences.

You can choose from 3 different options here: the classic High Tea which comes with tea and coffee or the elevated experience which includes a glass of sparkling too [go onnn]. There’s also an incredibly awesome children’s High Tea option which comes with hot choccy or juice and is such a great way to include the whole family!

Oh, and for all High Tea options the team are happy to offer Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, or

Vegan alternatives for a small charge.

High Tea is available every Saturday and bookings are essential.

Centennial Vineyards Restaurant

Ooo we’re drooling over everything on the menu at the High Teas in Centennial Vineyards.

Think finger sandwiches, soup shots, plain and fruit scones, homemade jam and other savoury bites and sweet treats.

Nestled inside a stunning Bowral winery, it’s only fitting to have the option of adding a glass of Centennial Rose or Centennial Bong Bong Sparkling to your high tea! And we won’t lie, we’re also totally excited by the Cocktail High Tea which includes an espresso martini- coffee and booze, oh yeah!

And for the kiddos, there’s a cute Children’s High Tea which includes some of the same snacks as the adults one but also chicken and chips [kids will be kids after all] and a soft drink, hot choccy or juice.

High Tea is available Monday – Friday from 10 am – 2.30 pm. Saturday & Sunday [for groups of 10 or more only] from 9.30 am – 11.30 am.

The Robertson Hotel

Visiting The Robertson Hotel always gives us those grand English manor vibes, so naturally, it’s a perfect spot for a High Tea.

The menu is curated by their head chef on a traditional silver service with all your classic High Tea faves. There is an option to add on a glass of sparkling [good idea] and they have vegetarian and gluten-free substitutions as well. Just make sure to mention that you will need this at the time of booking.

Available on Sundays.

Milton Park Country House Hotel & Spa

Another gorgeous location for another gorgeous tea! We’re just so spoiled here in the Highlands, aren’t we? Considering Milton Park Country House Hotel & Spa recently hosted the epic Bridgerton Garden Party, High Tea here is an obvious choice.

The Milton Park High Tea experience offers chef-selected sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, savoury pastries and sweets paired with your choice of La Maison Du The Tea or barista-made espresso, all whilst overlooking those incredible heritage-listed gardens.

Available every day of the week it’s wonderful for a special occasion or even just because you feel like a little treat [you probably deserve it tbh].

The Cupcake Co.

This beautiful little cupcake shop that opened in Berrima this year is not only dishing out some of the most pretty-ful cupcakes we’ve ever laid our eyes on, but they’re also serving up a gorgeous High Tea to boot!

They’ve even got a children’s High Tea that comes with vegemite finger sandwiches and fairy bread [how iconic].

Served on both Saturdays and Sundays, bookings are essential.

Gumnut Patisserie

Offering a take-home High Tea at their Mittagong location, we actually love the idea of this for a special occasion, date day, surprise for a loved one or even just a mid-week fun activity with friends.

Each tea comes with a mini quiche, mini sausage roll, mini pies, 4 of their award-winning tarts and slices and their famous individual sponge with jam and cream.
Orders can be made online for next-day pickup.

Rochelle Adonis Catering- High Teas To Go

One more wonderful takeaway High Tea option, this time by local caterer Rochelle Adonis. The menu here sounds totally drool-worthy with bites like smokey Barossa bacon, thyme and eschalot quiche, sous vide chicken breast, tarragon and Kewpie sliders and lime and blueberry meringue tarts.

Collection is from East Bowral and a minimum 72 hours’ notice is required for orders.

Well, now we’re definitely craving some finger sandwiches, Earl Grey, and scones!

The only question is, jam or cream first?
