Boxing Day Flicks

Head to the cinemas this Boxing Day in The Southern Highlands.

A visit to the flicks on Boxing Day is a long-standing tradition for lots of Aussie families.

The appeal of the dark, air-conditioned room. Choc top. Some time to zone out after a day of chat and laughs at the Christmas get-together.

Whatever the reason, Boxing Day is infamous for a line up of new releases to kick the holiday movie season off.

So if you are in the mood for a relaxing movie, head to The Empire Cinema on Bong Bong Street, which is the go-to for movies in The Highlands.

Because today is such a busy day, Empire recommend you pre-purchase your tickets beforehand to avoid missing out. You can buy tickets online here, pop in early or give them a call to purchase.

Here’s the line up of Boxing Day releases at Empire Cinema:

In the mood for a love story. This is your flick. This sounds like a big dose of inspiration. If we were going to see this today, we’d be taking a box of tissues.

Coco

We love the sound of this Pixar animated movie. As long as the little ones can see past the skeletons, this sounds like a fab family flick.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle 2D & 3D

PG, 119min

Ahem; anyone else shocked that a movie we watched in our younger years is being remade?! Already. Are we that old? Really? If you can get over that shock, then you’ll remember what this movie is about and like the idea of a modern-day version of Jumanji.

Tuesday 26/12 – 9.45am, 2.15pm & 7.15pm

If none of these films take your fancy, there are plenty of other movie options for young and old.

If heading to the beach, the Sydney to Hobart or the Boxing Day Test Match isn’t your cup of tea, why not head to the movies?

Happy Boxing Day!
