Well THAT was quick – we’re into February already! Blimey – don’t blink, people or all of 2025 might scuttle off……!
This month we’re happy-dancing at The Fold because:
a. we got through the 2,359 days of school holidays and the kids are back at school
and…
b. our Event Directory is filled to the brim with fab, local events – over 250 events the last time we looked!

NETWORKING EVENT // Business Women’s Network Southern Highlands February 2025 Breakfast
Local ladies in business are gonna want to make sure to attend this month’s Business Women’s Network Southern Highlands brekkie at The Conservatory, Briars.
Especially since several of our Councillors, including the Mayor and Deputy, along with other Council members will be in attendance for an informal chat.

CATCH SOME TALENT // Angus Murray at Robertson Public House
We love chilling out with the tunes of home-grown musician Angus Murray. So you just know we’re be looking forward to catching him at Robbo pub on the 8th.
Plus, it’s a free gig, which means more moolah for drinkies and tasty bites from the bar.

RAMP UP THE ROMANCE // Valentine’s Day at Bistro Sociale
The universal day of love falls on a Friday this year, and Bistro Sociale is turning up the romance with their curated four-course dinner.
With dishes like tuna tartare, spinach and ricotta ravolini, osso bucco, and chocolate tarts, it sounds like a line-up of absolute deliciousness.

Many of our local markets take a break in January, so we’re super excited to welcome them back with open arms [and baskets] in Feb!
We’re super excited to hit up the Country Markets at Peppers Manor House on the fourth Saturday of the month for all our favourite market goodies followed by a gloriously indulgent high-tea at Katers restaurant. Talk about an iconic Highlands adventure.

GET EUROPEAN // The Robertson Spanish Flamenco Festival
Transport yourself to Spain for 2 days in Feb, courtesy of The Robertson Hotel. There’ll be Spanish cooking classes, flamenco dancing classes, wine and spirit tastings, sumptuous meals and even a flamenco performance.
This sensational event is brought together by Paco Lara, a renowned flamenco guitar player with his company of amazing flamenco dancers and players. Alongside the Jiminez family of Joadja who are known for their flavourful Whisky matured in Sherry casks from Jerez in Spain.

COUNTRY FUN // Kangaroo Valley Show
We are such suckers for an awesome country show and KV’s show is one of the best!
With everything you’d expect from an authentic regional show experience – wood chopping, dog shows, produce and art competitions, rides, showbags, awesome food, show jumping, live music and stacks more – it’s all happening on 16-17 Feb.

GET YOUR ART FIX // Amazing new art exhibitions to take in
The Highlands arts scene is really pumping at the moment.
Have a look at these local art exhibitions to take in- we reckon The Summer Exhibition at Milk Factory Gallery & Exhibition Space is a must visit and the Summer Salon- Graffiti and Glamour exhibition at Spud Lane showcases incredibly talented and established artists alongside up and coming creators.
AND we are so excited for the SHAC team [Southern Highlands Artisans Collective] and their members’ group show and exhibition which will be running up until the 4th at their new Robbo location.
How lucky are to have these sorts of events, galleries and passionate groups here in the Highlands?

SPOOKY-OOKY // Berrima Courthouse Interactive Ghost Tour
Berrima Courthouse has a strong reputation with local lovers of the paranormal, so if that’s you, or if you’re just spook-curious then you might wanna check this out.
On the 9th you can join APPI Ghost Hunts & Tours for a two-hour interactive ghost tour. You’ll learn about the history of the courthouse, and its apparent hauntings as well as try your hand at a few experiments to see if you can make contact with any spirits who may be hanging around.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT // Troy Crisante Head Chef Quay Restaurant at Moonacres
Book in at Moonacres on the 24th for an afternoon of conversation about quality food followed by filling your tummy with the said good food.
Troy has had an incredible career so far and was even awarded Time Out’s Hot Young Talent Award in 2016. He’s now head chef at the famous Quay restaurant in Sydney and has a strong respect and love for all the ingredients he serves on a plate. If you’re a foodie then we reckon this is one you’re sure gonna love.

CATCH SOME TALENT // Wendy Mathews Live at The Empire
Wendy’s got a voice that we just can’t get enough of so we’re pretty pumped to hear that she’ll be singing for locals at The Empire Cinema in Bowral on the 17th.
What a wonderful way to support Aussie talent in an awesome Highlands venue!

MOVE FOR A CAUSE // Memory Walk & Jog for Dementia
Dig out your activewear, dust off your walking shoes and sign up for this walking event aimed at supporting people impacted by dementia in the Southern Highlands [and all across Australia].
In New South Wales alone there are over 135,000 people living with dementia and by raising funds you’ll be making a direct impact on improving their future. Oh and it’s a fab opportunity to get out and about in the Highlands.
