And just like that…..autumn has arrived!

Even if we wanted to sit around in our cardigans, watch the leaves change colour and lament the end of summer, there is no time because this month is F-U-L-L to the brim with fabulous events and happenings all around our magnificent region.

With over 250 entries in our Event Directory at the moment, March the little minx has us well and truly covered and there’s no reason we can’t keep the summer vibes going through autumn.

So let’s get ready to March [soz] into autumn and start filling up our diaries.

See you here, there + everywhere!

LISTEN TO THIS // Bowral Autumn Music Festival

It doesn’t matter if you don’t know your Bach from your Beethoven, you’ll still be wowed at the Bowral Autumn Music Festival .

With a wonderfully diverse selection of performances, there is something for everyone to enjoy – from the country’s top talent to new works by prominent Australian composers, as well as interesting pre-concert talks.

Such a beautiful time of year to celebrate the wonderful world of music!

NAMASTE // Nepalese Festival

Celebrate the beautiful culture of Nepal on the 1st of the month at Corbett Gardens in Bowral. There are actually over 500 Nepalese residents calling our part of the world home and we’re so excited to celebrate with them.

There’ll be live music, authentic Nepalese food, kite making, face painting and lots of fun. Bring a picnic rug and make a whole day of it with your crew.

COUNTRY DAY OUT // Moss Vale Show and the Robertson Show

Yee haw! Our homegrown shows are back at it in 2024 and between the two of them – Robertson from 14-15 March and Moss Vale on the 21-23 March – half of your March weekends are sorted.

You’re welcome!

There is SO much to see at the Mossy Show, thank goodness it’s running for THREE days!

And you would be mad to miss the old school charm of the Robbo Show, home of THE famous Potato Race. THIS is the race that stops the Highlands.

So grab your peeps, a dagwood dog and head along to these awesome country shows.

Robertson Show

GIDDY UP // Dallas Down Under at Snake Creek Cattle Company

Yeehaw, time to saddle up and celebrate everything we love about cowboy culture at this one-night-only event.

Horsemanship demos, motivational talks, a western fashion showcase, a Texas BBQ under the stars and plenty of live entertainment are all on the lineup.

Tix are limited, so grab yours before they ride off into the sunset.

MERRY GO ROUND // Fairground Follies hosted by Wafflers Southern Highlands

Step right up for a magical evening of carousels, music, and nostalgia at Fairground Follies, home to Bowral’s super cool collection of antique mechanical music.

Hosted by Wafflers Southern Highlands, the night includes dinner and a guided tour through the whimsical world of fairground organs, and musical marvels. Collector Craig Robson will be the ringmaster, sharing the stories behind his incredible collection while guests enjoy a meal surrounded by vintage charm.

Love it!

MORE MUSIC // 2025 Autumn Concert Series

Phwoar, it really is shaping up to be a fantastic month for fans of classic and orchestral music in the Highlands.

The Southern Highlands Symphony Orchestra is kicking off their concert series on 22 and 23 March with works by Giuseppe Verdi, Max Bruch, Frederick Delius, Emmanuel Chabrier, and Alfred Hill.

With the next concert not until June, this one is well worth catching!

REACH BEYOND // 2025 Seniors Festival

This year the annual Southern Highlands Seniors Festival will be held from the 3rd to the 16th of March.

This amazing festival is such a wonderful way for local seniors to learn new skills, meet new people and just have some good fun.

The program is jam-packed with cool activities and wet think the Aboriginal Art Class sounds intersting as well the Creative and Connected Afternoon Tea.

There are also information sessions on scam awareness and digital training as well as the history talks, film screenings and music performances plus even more.

Check out the full program here.

WHO DUNNIT // Murder at the Manor at Park Proxi Bowral

Time to play detective while dining on a delicious feast at Park Proxi Bowral’s murder mystery dinner party.

The theme is Art Deco, so dust off those hats, gloves, and maybe even a few feathers to really get into it.

Tickets include a three-course meal and a night of cracking clues and having a ball.

ACCELERATE ACTION // International Women’s Day 2025

International Women’s Day is on the 8th of March this year and is a day to celebrate the achievements of women as well as focus on taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality.

Wingecarribee Shire Council is hosting a breakfast at Park Proxi Bowral with inspiring local keynote speakers, Sarah Mangelsdorf and Sarah Steele.

Both women are dedicated community leaders, supporting families, wellbeing, healthcare, and women’s sport through advocacy and experience.

Bring along some professional clothing to donate to Dress for Success, helping women get job-ready. You can also donate directly when booking.

AUTHOR TALKS // Literary Morning Tea with Debra Oswald by The Bookshop Bowral

Acclaimed author Debra Oswald’s latest book One Hundred Years of Betty sounds like a most excellent read.

Main character Betty is about to turn 100 and is ready to tell us her story. Her life is anything but ordinary and we reckon this morning tea at Centennial Vineyards Restaurant on the 18th will be the same.

Find out more about the event and how to book your spot here.

NGUNUNGGULA NIGHTS // Indianna & Will

If you haven’t made the most of Ngununggula’s summer program here’s your last chance.

Indie folk duo Indianna & Will will be bringing the tunes, Hearth by Moonacres has the food and drinks covered, and the art speaks for itself.

A brilliant way to wrap up the season with a little music, a little culture, and a great night out.

There you have it! And this is merely a taste of what March has got up it’s sleeve!

So let’s spring [or autumn] into action and get busy.
