The Fold’s List Of Must Do’s, Don’t Miss Outs + You’re Nuts If You Don’t Go Events!
Well, THIS is exciting!
Our Event Directory has got over 300 events happening across the Highlands in November.
How amazing is that?
Spring is most definitely springing, so let’s get out and explore all the lovely outdoor events coming our way. Thanks, Mother Nature!
Start your November with our pick of awesome things to do in the Highlands this month….
DRESS UP // “Don’t Worry Be Happy” Dress Class
Join a group of local sewists and learn to make the new ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy’ dress pattern by Loom Fabrics over a 5 week course! This A-line dress is perfect for all skill levels and perfect for summer.
Bring your own machine if you have one; if not, a couple of extras are available for hire.
SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISTS // ARTS Trail
One of our favourite events on the Highlands calendar is back and this year there are over 50 artists in 40+ studios showcasing their work as part of the 2024 Southern Highlands ARTS Trail running across two weekends.
Small Impact Studio, a small glass studio specialising in sustainable glass designs, will also be joining this year and will be open over both weekends.
Such a great way to get up close and personal with the incredible creators and makers in our area and support them by buying something directly from their studio.

GET INTO THE GROOVE // Live music
Swinging by a local venue and listening to a local muso [these guys have done the hard yards these past couple of years!] or taking in a fab show has to be one of our favourite things to do and our live music scene is well live music is well and truly back with bells on – yay!
One you totally don’t want to miss this month is the Alive Garden Party at Moss Vale Showgrounds on the 16th.
This is the first of its kind in Australia and is only happening in 4 locations all over the country.
Expect all your fave dance anthems rocked out by a real live symphony orchestra plus other performers.
This sounds SERIOUSLY EPIC peeps, so grab your tix before they sell out.
WINE AND DINE // Dawning Day x Robertson Public House
Two awesome Highlands businesses are coming together for a night of deliciousness on the 20th.
Hear from head winemaker of Dawning Day, Mike as you explore each of the 7 wines, with a carefully complimented 6 course dinner by Head Chef or Robertson Public House, Ian.
Rooms are even available for those wanting to stay the night! Ticket holders can snag a special discounted rate for their stay. Places are limited though, so act fast.

DIVE IN // Local swimming pools and spots
It’s finally warming up – woohoo! Which means we can hit up our local swimming pools or if you like your swimming with a side of exploring, head to these natural swimming spots.
And if you like the sand between your toes and in your bum crack, here’s a list of some of our fave beaches an hour or so away on the coast.
FOLKY FUN // Bundanoon Folk Festival
A whole weekend celebrating everything folk-y in the beautiful Bundanoon.
This is a family friendly event with loads of music, dancing, performances, workshops and fun for the kiddos.
If you want to make a whole weekend of it, why not pitch a tent at the campsite near the event and make use of the awesome bus services that will be running to and from the festival.
Find out more about the event and the program here.

FASCINATORS, FETLOCKS & FASHION // Melbourne Cup in the Highlands
The race that stops the nation [well, the race that gives us an excuse to catch up with friends and have a fun lunch at a fab venue] is on Tuesday 5 November, and there are plenty of events to hitch your wagon to this year.
Briars Inn is putting on a set lunch and a garden party [double the fun]. Bistro Sociale is serving up an incredible sounding Seafood Buffet. Bundanoon Hotel has free seating and woodfired pizza, Royal Hotel Bowral is hosting a long-lunch and Mittagong Hotel will have prizes for best dressed, so bust out the fascinators and fedoras folks.

MORE ROARING RACES // Bong Bong Picnic Races
Better than the Melbourne cup? Some say yes!
Race Day has been set for Friday 22nd November and tickets are on sale for members now. As per usual there’ll be limited food and coffee on-site but picnic baskets are totally encouraged [hence the name, hehe]
Oh and in extra exciting news, Franquette Crêperie is hosting a pre-race bite & bubbles in the morning for those heading to the Bong Bong races. We think that this is a super fun way to start the big day…. Giddy up!

COMEDIC TIMING // Anh Do – The Happiest Refugee Live!
Comedian Anh Do is bringing his bestselling memoir, The Happiest Refugee, to life in a fun and unique stand-up show at Bowral Memorial Hall this month!
His book has had readers laughing and crying, and in this show, Anh takes things up a notch by mixing stand-up comedy with personal stories, photos, and video clips to share his amazing journey.
When one of Australia’s funniest comedians opens up about his life’s ups and downs, you’re in for a memorable night that will leave you feeling uplifted and just plain happy!
GOOD GOLF // Swing For Sarcoma Charity Golf Day
Mt Broughton Golf Course is hosting their third ever Charity Golf Day raising funds for charity Swing For Sarcoma.
The team has actually raised 100k over the last two events and we’re sure this year is gonna be another cracker.
Find out more about how to donate, sponsor or get involved here.
TRASH N TREASURE // Garage Sale Trail
Oh, we’re total suckers for a classic garage sale! There’s nothing like the thrill of rummaging and hunting for that perfect bargain or special find.
The annual Garage Sale Trail is coming to Wingecarribee for two weekends in November, and loads of people have already signed up for their stalls! You can register your own garage sale, group sale, or boot sale, or check out all the spots to explore on the website.
Happy rummaging, friends!

HERE WE GO AGAIN // Mamma Mia
The incredibly talented seniors of Oxley College are putting on a staging of the iconic Mamma Mia.
Anyone who’s a fan of the film, ABBA or supporting local talent will surely want to see this one.
Tickets are available online.
CREATIVE KIDS // Creative Youth Drop In Session
This free weekly group meet-up is organised by River Road Creative Academy.
It’s a great opportunity for kiddos aged 12-18 to get together and learn about making music, creating art, and just being themselves!
We love having initiatives in our community like this.
TAKE A WALK // Lover’s Walk
Make the most of this Goldilocks weather and hit up Lover’s Walk in Morton National Park. It’s family-friendly and only a short drive from Bundy. Lots of gorge flora and fauna to check out, some cracker views and not too hard on the old joints, we love it! For the details on access, length and what to expect, take a look here.
