Whether you love them, or you can’t wait for them to be over – they’re approaching and approaching fast!

The kids [and grown-ups] have worked hard this term and we’re VERY ready for some fun.

Thankfully, there’s plenty for kids to see, do and sign up for to keep them busy, active and happy.

So, here’s a list of fab things for kids to do in the Autumn school holidays in the Southern Highlands, and be sure to head to our Event Directory for loads more activities and fun to be had.

1 // Pig Day Out Kangaroo Valley at The Friendly Inn

The kiddos are sure to have a squealin’ good time at The Friendly Inn on the 19th!

Watch six races of speedy little piglets dashing for glory, plus  raffles and auctions with a chance to win pub vouchers and cash prizes. There’s live local music, a full bar and bistro, and heaps of fun happening all day.

The first race starts at 11.30am, and it’s all for a great cause, with proceeds supporting local community groups.

Tickets are just $11, and kids under 12 get in free, oink!

2 // PCYC fun

Woohooo – PCYC Southern Highlands always have a rockin’ school holiday activity program.

This autumn they’re offering up a cool mix of both sporty stuff and arts and crafts – awesome!

Kids can choose from pickleball, parkour, gymnastics, NERF Wars, puzzles, air clay scultping, bead jewellery and loads more!

3 // Amber Lawrence Sings Tay Tay!

Got a little Swiftie at home? This is their moment to Shine!

ARIA-nominated artist Amber Lawrence is bringing the country-pop party to Robertson Public House & Kitchen, with her Kids Gone Country hits and a special Taylor Swift set that’ll have everyone shaking it off!

Sing, dance, and channel your inner pop star all afternoon. Perfect for primary school kids, but everyone’s welcome…because when it comes to a T-Swift singalong, we never go out of style!

4 // Rowany Festival

A medieval wonderland festival, packed with action, creativity, and fun for all the little lords and ladies!

Held at Camp Wombaroo, this awesome event has sword-fighting, archery, equestrian games, and a buzzing Bardic Circle for music and storytelling. Kids can join in arts and crafts, the Children’s Ball, and boffer fighting [soft sword battles!].

There’s also dancing, markets, hands-on workshops, and even a full-scale medieval war!

So, don thy finest garb and join the revelry!

5 // School Holiday Programs by Horse Haven

These fun and friendly camps in Colo Vale give kids a chance to grow in confidence, make new friends, and try exciting hands-on activities in a supportive setting.

With outdoor adventures, creative fun, and horse-assisted learning, each program helps kids build teamwork, communication, and self-esteem.

The Mixed Day Camp is filled with outdoor challenges, creative projects, and team activities for kids aged 6 to 14.

Courageous Colts is a horse-assisted program for boys aged 6 to 12 with additional needs, helping them feel more confident and resilient.

Fearless Fillies offers the same experience for girls, supporting self-esteem and communication skills.

Led by experienced staff, these camps are a great way for kids to explore nature, connect with animals, and have an unforgettable holiday

6 // Junior Jacks at Bowral Bowling Club

If your child is keen to try a new sport this year, bowls might be just the thing.

These coaching sessions at Bowral Bowling Club make learning lawn bowls fun and supportive while helping kids build motor skills and coordination.

Each session is just $5 with no pressure to attend every one. Plus, they run outside regular Club bowling times, so kids can feel comfortable giving it a go.

7 // Easter at Bundanoon Hotel

Make the most of the Easter break with some hopping good fun at Bundanoon Hotel.

There’ll be an egg hunt, a visit from the furry fella, live music, and face painting. The restaurant will be open too, so be sure to book a table to keep everyone well fed.

Sounds like a fun day out for the fam… and a great way for the littlies to burn off some of that sugar high from all the choccy they probably had for breakfast!

8 // Autumn School Holiday Art Workshops for Primary School Children

Lovely local artist Mary Lou Pavlovic is hosting art-errific workshops these holidays.

Budding artists will love getting creative with activities like autumn cookies, winter forest painting, magical animal masks, clay birds, balloon bowls, tissue paper collages, oobleck, and heaps more. There are no repeated projects, so every session offers something new.

All activities are age-appropriate and designed for a fun, hands-on experience.

Creative Kids Vouchers are welcome, and there are sessions for ages 4 to 7 and 8 to 12.

9 // Mussett Holdings Farm Tour

For a real hands-on farm experience and a chance to learn about sustainability and off-grid living, book the fam in for a farm tour at Mussett Holdings.

Try a range of raw honeys and preserves. Wander through the chemical-free, no-till market garden, tasting fresh veggies along the way. Label, pack, and stamp eggs just like the farmers do. Check out how mushrooms grow and say hello to some friendly farm animals.

A very Highlands day out!

10 // Moss Vale Arts Factory Classes

There’s so many ways your kidlet can express themselves at the Moss Vale Arts Factory.

From group class where they can discover music through different instruments and styles, to garage band [rock on], mixed art programs, music therapy and more.

Check out their timetable to find out more about what’s available over the holidays and what to expect.

11 // Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures + Bradman Museum

Knock out two iconic [and totally kid-friendly] Highlands locations with one handy ticket.

The combo ticket gets you entry to the Bradman Museum and Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk at a discounted price. We’re all for saving the cash where we can but still maximising on the good times so this seems like a sweet deal.

Also one to keep in mind if you’ve got friends with kids coming to town and are looking for ways to keep them entertained as well.

12 // 2 Day Clyde River Guided Kayak Camping

Okay we think this would be an absolutely amazing way to have a family adventure these hols.

Head out on a two-day, one-night paddling trip along the Clyde River in Batemans Bay [not too far from here].

Paddle through national parks, spot some wildlife, and take in all the natural goodness.

You’ll have friendly guides with you, keeping you safe and sharing their knowledge of the area’s history and wildlife.

They’ve also got you covered with kayaks, gear, yummy meals, and comfy tents set up at private riverside campsites.

And in extra exciting news if you book for April 23rd and 24th and get 15% off with the code CAMPOUT!
