Take a sneak peek inside an early learning centre in Mittagong.
We’re big fans of the wonderful team at Explorers Learning Academy – with two fantastic early learning centres in Mittagong, they really do set the bar high when it comes to early childhood education.
A lot of that has to do with the amazing spaces they’ve created.
So, what DOES make a great centre from an interior and exterior design perspective?
What features truly support the holistic and play-based learning model the passionate and knowledgeable educators at Explorers Learning Academy live and breathe?
Well, we had a wander around their Mittagong West centre to find out…..come and have a peek too!

Backyard Blitz
How good is this?
The outdoor space at Explorers Learning Academy has got a cubby house, huuuuge sandpit [always a crowd favourite with the little’uns, right?], resident guinea pigs and plenty of space to get creative and burn off some energy.

There’s also a veggie patch where the children get to learn about the whole paddock to plate philosophy.
And how fun is it to get dirty in the garden when you’re a kid? So good!

Another popular spot outside [but under cover] is the dedicated painting space where little Explorers can channel their inner Picasso.

Reading Room
Taking time to connect with wonderful stories is so important for a child’s imagination and the Reading Room which has been created in the Wallaby and Kookaburra Rooms for children aged 2 –5, is a beautiful quiet space to do just that.

Dedicated Nursery Space
The Koala Room is where you’ll find a beautiful nursery style space for 0–2-year-olds, complete with a play area, book nook and a cot room for that all-important nap.
Lots of opportunity for tactile and creative play for the babies and toddlers.

Functional + Creative Space
The older children [2-5 years] have got a fab indoor space [the Wallaby and Kookaburra Rooms] to keep their minds and bodies busy.
There is the quiet reading area, a home corner complete with a kitchen that is great for dramatic play, and an activity space where their imagination can run wild.

Deliciousness!
Every day the children have a different menu for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea [no packed lunches for parents to whip up – yay!].
Meals are prepared onsite with tasty, fresh and seasonal produce. Healthy options for growing minds and bodies!

So, there you go! Looks great, doesn’t it?
