Lace up your trainers and fill up your water bottle; there’s a fun new spot [and sport] to get movin’ in the Highlands. The Highlands Centre is an exciting new sports complex that isn’t just about getting in shape; it’s an awesome community hub where fun and fitness go hand in hand.

From sports fanatics to fitness newbies, and everyone in between, the Highlands Centre offers something for all types of Highlanders. Whether it’s trying out a new sport or spending quality time with your peeps, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained. It’s a wonderful place to stay active, make memories, and have a blast as a family.

We took a trip over to see what all the buzz was about. We discovered that the Highlands Centre is a go-to spot for fun, fitness, and family time all rolled into one fantastic joint.

Here’s what you need to know before you go and why the whole crew will love it:

What’s Inside the Highlands Centre?

The Highlands Centre can be found at Gillick Sports Complex on the Frensham campus.

Inside is:

Indoor Hall:

Two basketball/netball courts, perfect for year-round play.

Outdoor Courts:

Ten different courts for tennis, basketball, and netball.

Hockey Turf:

Get your field hockey game on!

Football/Rugby Fields:

Four expansive fields for your favourite team sports.

We love that the centre is a spot where families and friends can come together to join in on a bunch of activities in a welcoming and supportive setting. Highlands Centre is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of locals with excellent facilities and programs for all ages and skill levels- LOVE IT!

The Programs:

At Highlands Centre, there is a range of different programs that we are excited to check out, but one we admit we’ve REEEAAAALLLY got our eye on is the Cardio Pop.

Cardio Pop is a high-energy, super fun workout that combines tennis with cardio, all set to some fantastic tunes. Sounds like a party, right? Send us an invite, please!

Cardio Pop Tennis is designed to be fun and accessible for everyone, with padel racquets, low compression balls, and smaller courts. It’s a game that’s perfect for all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re new to the game, playing for fun, or have a competitive streak, you’ll fit right in. The underarm drop serve makes it incredibly easy to start playing, so no previous tennis experience is needed. Perfect for us newbies!

Sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30am to 10:30 am at the Highlands Centre. With friendly coaches guiding you every step of the way, you’ll be hitting those balls and getting fit in no time. Cardio Pop is even more fun played in doubles, so bring a friend and double the fun!

If you love the sound of this, then why not sign up for a free trial [freebies baby]. You can fill out the form on the Highlands Centre website to get started on your Cardio Pop adventure.

Other great programs at Highlands Centre include Basketball, Netball, Tennis and Fitness Programs, so there’s plenty of fun to choose from.

Okay, who’s pumped? We sure are! If you’ve been looking for a chance to switch up your movement game, then now’s the time to check out the Highlands Centre. Whether you’re trying Cardio Pop for the first time, hitting the tennis courts with Sergio, or diving into one of the other great programs, you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere and top-notch facilities.

And if you’re keen to work on your serve even more, don’t miss out on the epic programs with Highlands Tennis. For adults, there’s social tennis, cardio tennis, pop tennis, pickleball, and even private coaching.

Kids have loads of fab options too, from coaching programs for preschoolers all the way up to big kids as well as private lessons and amazing holiday camps.

With free trials available for many of the programs, it’s a great idea to reach out to the team at the Highlands Centre and Highlands Tennis and give it a try.

See you on the court peeps!
