THE FOLD LOVES A STICKY BEAK // The Berrima Project

SHARE

This thoughtful refresh of a stunning Berrima home is making our jaws drop.

We’re suckers for the chance to snoop behind the front doors of a dazzling Highlands home, so when local interior designer Lori from March Twice Interiors, who recently finished off this refresh project in Berrima, invited us in we knew we just had to give it a gander!

March Twice are known for their focus on quality materials, skilled craftsmanship, exquisite textures, and timeless appeal, so we know we’re in for a real treat!

Walk your way through The Berrima Project with Lori from March Twice and us.

The house is set on a nice big block of land in Berrima. This family home is a pretty dynamic space for its residents.

The family wanted to be sure their home was filled with natural tones and materials but still an actual functional living space.

The family is a couple with older children and their home sees lots of mucky boots, foot traffic and muddy paws!

We made sure to accommodate all the beautiful mess that comes with a well-loved space.

[We didn’t even know it was possible to be so obsessed with a mudroom. Check it out!]

For the refresh, we focused mainly on the kitchen, laundry and home office.

The home is also the headquarters of a bustling and well-organised family-run business. We needed to make sure there was space for staff visits, equipment and of course surprise drop-ins by friends.

We also added fresh paint throughout the home as well as new timber flooring and new window coverings.

We wanted to steer clear of any common design cliches or styles. Instead, we worked to create a look that flows well throughout the whole home and meets the needs of the space perfectly.

Most of the floor plan wasn’t able to be changed, so we knew that any new finishes or materials couldn’t be at odds with the existing style of the home. We took our time to make sure it all flowed seamlessly.

We relish the challenge of honouring the existing home whilst also making sure it is functional for the families that live in it.

We believe we did that for this family.

We loved working with this client and we are about to start working with them again on their holiday home down the south coast. It’s a beautiful old home that needs a lot of TLC to bring back to life. We can’t wait!

Just a beauty, Thanks Lori!

We even got a chance to chat to owners of this stunner about the whole refresh operation, here’s what they had to say:

“When we started the process of renovating our home, we found the whole idea so overwhelming.

Even the thought of engaging a designer was daunting, but on our first meeting with Lori, instantly I knew we were  in capable hands. We were so on the same page, she understood that given the crazy world we live in, with our business, dogs and farm mess, it needed to be practical and functional, but also beautiful.

And what she delivered was that and more. We love our new spaces, and we often comment that we wouldn’t have our gorgeous kitchen if it wasn’t for Lori. And it’s true we wouldn’t!

From concept to completion, working with Lori and the March Twice team was so good, we are embarking on another renovation journey together very soon…watch this space!”

Yep, we can totally see why! With what you’ve done here Lori we just know the next project is gonna be GORGEOUS!

For now, we’ll just pretend we’ve poured ourselves a nice cuppa and are having a lovely mo’ at this table right here……. Ah, bliss!
