This 6-Year Transformation Of A Fitzroy Falls Property Is Giving Us Serious House Envy
You know how much we love taking a sneaky peek behind the front doors of stunning Highlands homes so when local interior designer Jess Hunter of Jess Hunter Interior Design finished a wonderful renovation project in Fitzroy Falls recently, well…..we wanted to have a look-see.
Knowing of the amazing work Jess does already, we knew it would be finished to a high standard, be super stylish and give us serious house envy…..and we weren’t wrong.
That kicked in the moment we drove up the tree lined driveway – VERY Highlands!
Walk your way through The Grace Project with Jess.

The project actually started in 2016.
The client moved from Sydney and had bought a large property in Fitzroy Falls that needed updating.

It was completed in stages from 2016 – 2022.
At each stage they asked me back to design the next piece to the puzzle so I got to know the property, the clients and what worked for them really well.

Saying that though, from the very start we knew what the end goal was so we had a plan to work to at all stages of the project over those six years.

The renovation included a change in the exterior colour, verandah extension and external fireplace and we did interior design work in the bathrooms, study and mudroom.
The first stage was the kitchen and new flooring.
The second stage was the ensuite bathroom and master robes, interior colouring and flooring.

The third stage of the project was a big one which included a re-design of the middle area of the home to upgrade the main bathroom and mudroom.
I love this mudroom….

The main bathroom came up beautifully.

And nobody would mind doing the washing in a laundry like this!

At this stage, we also did the study and recladded one of the interior fireplaces, as well as doing window coverings.

We also worked on designing an outdoor entertaining area, including an outdoor fireplace which has become a huge centrepiece for the home and everyone who visits.

We also looked at colour, lighting, stone cladding and the design of the doors.
The client managed this part of the project and called on me whenever she needed support or some guidance through the process.

And we worked with the client on furniture placement.

It’s incredibly rewarding when a client comes back time after time.
The house has been absolutely transformed.
It’s an incredibly beautiful property and shows that working on your home over the years as a family grows within it really can be a beautiful process.
Thanks Jess!
And if anyone needs us, we’ll be working out a way to make the property owners our new BFF’s so we can have a wine or two right here…..
