WHAT TO LOOK FOR 

• Shoes that fit both length and width 
   
• A firm heel counter for support
   
• Choose a shoe that is adjustable i.e. laces, self-fastening etc rather than slip on to get better support
   
• A sole that has a shank for stability through the base of the shoe and only has flexibility at the toe area
   
• Breathability – leather uppers allow your child’s feet to breathe

HOW TO GET THE BEST FIT  

• Have both feet measured – it’s more common to have different size feet than it is the same. 
   
• Ensure a comfortable but firm / fit hugging around the heel – not too loose and not too tight – juuuuuuust right! 
   
• Make sure there is 1-2cm of growing room between the longest toe and the end of shoe
