One of our favourite things to do is to wander around the gorgeous homewares stores of the Highlands, wishing we had a palace with eleventy billion rooms so we could fill it on up with all the beautiful stuff!
There are over 50 homewares stores in the Southern Highlands – here’s a comprehensive list for you to work through.

We love the quirky and unique homewares in here. Owner, Alan has got quite the eye and you’ll always find something FUNUSUAL! [yep, we made up our own word!]
2 // Cotswold InOut Furniture MITTAGONG
We’re so lucky to have the warehouse and showroom of this leading furniture brand in the Southern Highlands! Stunning, classic outdoor designs made to withstand our crazy Highlands weather, and beautiful indoor chairs, tables, lighting and more. It’s all so stylish and beautifully made.
3 // Ferris Wheel Bowral
We can’t help but smile when we visit this stunning space. Ferris Wheel Bowral is not only a beautiful gallery space, it’s a top spot to shop for one of a kind artisan French furniture and unique homewares for your home.
4 // The Modern Furniture Store
You will find a range of new and original Scandinavian designed furniture and accessories at The Modern Furniture Store. We’re always ogling their gorge selection of Marimekko goodies and can’t get enough of all the perfect pieces.
5 // Reece Funiture & Homewares MOSS VALE
These guys opened their lovely store in 2022 [you’ll find them opposite Moss Vale’s IGA] and boast a selection of statement furniture pieces, country style lounges [custom made if you need it!], lighting, linen and that’s just the start of it. Worth a visit for sure!
6 // Few & Far BOWRAL
If you’re after something stylish and unique for the house, a visit to Few & Far is a must. Beautiful furniture– both vintage and brand new – with influences from Asia to Europe and back home again. Plus lighting, art, mirrors, carpets, rugs and so much more.
7 // RustyRose Designs
This one’s for our garden lovers! We adore the custom-made laser cut steel screens made by RustyRose Designs. You can grab one of your own at one of our local markets or even through the online store.
8 // Barbara’s Storehouse BOWRAL & MITTAGONG
So much fun wandering around both these stores. I mean, have you REALLY been to the Highlands if you haven’t dropped into Barbara’s Storehouse? We love the baskets, the cushions, the gorgeous wingback chairs, the pot plants, the huge range of lamps and lamp stands, and ALL the rest! Such a huge range of homewares here.
9 // Suzie Anderson MOSS VALE & BOWRAL
You’ll find classic European style, country elegance and Hamptons-inspired furniture, outdoor living, homewares, Manchester and décor at this iconic Southern Highlands store – well, two stores, actually! Head to the Bowral store for beautiful al fresco elements and the Moss Vale emporium style space for lots of interior design inspo.
10 // Mossy Store MOSS VALE
Hand-crafted, beautifully made, artisan homewares with a focus on local, Mossy Store is where you find those timeless, high quality pieces and items that will stay in your kitchen, perched on display or on your table for many years to come. Stunning and sustainable – we love it!
11 // The Brown Shutter BERRIMA
A favourite with locals and visitors to this beautiful Georgian town, the iconic ducks out the front will lead you into a store of everything you’ll need for a picnic, or to host your next soiree!
12 // Trotters Lane ROBERTSON
When you add fresh flowers into the homewares mix, you know we’ll be there with bells on! Plenty on offer at Trotters Lane from mugs to books to candles, tea and throws, serving ware, plant pots and loads loads more.
13 // Cookshop Plus BOWRAL
The place to go to get everything you need to cook, cater, create and consume! Cookshop Plus has a huge range of practical kitchen items through to beautiful crockery, coffee machines, table linen and our personal favourite – bar trolleys!
14 // Hunter & Gatherer Collections MOSS VALE
Perched up the top of the southern end of Argyle Street, this store has a huge range of stylish interior items and outdoor furniture, plants and accessories. Wander through the beautifully curated homewares in store as you make your way out the back to a gorgeous outdoor section, which is kind of like taking some time out in a beautiful French garden! Oh, and they have a shop dog who is totally gorgeous.
15 // That Beautiful Shop MOSS VALE
Specialising in custom made sofas, armchairs and upholstery, this store in Mossy lives up to it’s name. Beautiful botanical and floral prints adorn the wall, with original ceramics displayed on sideboards and unique coffee tables. You can also find some fab pre-loved pieces too.
16 // Coco Unika
This furniture and lifestyle store is all about simple living, contemporary design and natural materials. You’re bound to find something for every room of your home at their location in Moss Vale. Best to get in touch before visiting as they’re open by appointment.
