Across the six 2.5 hour sessions in this course you will discover the forgotten art of hand tool woodworking and use beautiful vintage tools, many of which are over 100 years old; each showing the story of their time with the craftsmen who have used and maintained them.
Hand tool woodwork is easy to learn, relaxing to do, and has none of the noise, dust and stress of power tools. A perfect mindfulness activity where you can switch off to the world and just enjoy yourself making something amazing with your very own hands.
Learn all the fundamentals when you make the timber parts and joinery in your foot stool including: marking out, sawing, hand planing, mallet and chisel work, drilling, filing, sanding and finishing. This project has everything!
Your instructor, Byron Roberts who is a qualified Industrial Arts Educator and Industrial Designer with over 22 years experience will work with you in a friendly class of 6 to guide you in the making of your own special piece of furniture.
