Flaxton’s eastern side is blessed with spectacular sweeping views that take the eye soaring off the Blackall Range and down to the ocean’s horizon — early risers, prepare yourselves for a stunning sunrise.
Flaxton’s western side is blanketed with the verdant subtropical rainforest of Kondalilla Falls National Park, where you can enjoy hikes of varying intensities and spend hours swimming in the refreshingly deep, cold waterhole.
If you’re looking to discover some of the region’s hidden gems Baxter Falls, located in the north of Flaxton, can be accessed from Flaxton Mill Road Carpark. Follow the pathway – which forms part of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk – to reach it.
Afterwards, enjoy lunch at The Barn on Flaxton or high tea at Flaxton Gardens, before retiring for the night at one of the town’s charming B&B’s such as Avocado Grove or Mitta Glen Guesthouse – a beautifully restored Queenslander originally built in the late 1800s.
