Description
Lighting the Sound is an Australian-first event produced by FORM in collaboration with internationally renowned Finnish artist Kari Kola, and in consultation with the Albany community.
Kari Kola's work is inspired by the Menang (or Bloodroot) plant, for which the region's First Nations peoples are named, and it gestures towards elements of reconciliation and intergenerational transfer of knowledge through broad interpretations of story.
This dramatic illumination of thousands of hectares of the landforms around King George's Sound is anticipated to be the largest light installation on Earth in history.
