Central Midlands Senior High School is a lively public co-ed school in Moora, way out in the Wheatbelt, about 172 km north of Perth. Established in 1971, it’s got a cozy vibe with around 194 students from Year 8 to Year 12, including a good 20% Aboriginal representation.
The school is part of an education hub with St James Residential College, offering boarding for students. And, guess what? It got a shiny new library and telecentre back in 2007, making it even more awesome!
The leadership has shifted a bit over the years, with Audrey Smith calling the shots until 2010, followed by Lea Fairfoul-Hutcheon. Enrollment numbers have had their ups and downs but generally stay steady. Just a heads up—you might want to avoid the school during school holidays, ’cause it was broken into back in 2012!
