Balgal Cultural Tours offers immersive tagalong cultural fishing experiences that connect visitors to Country, language, and traditions while exploring some of the region's most stunning waterways.
With a focus on authenticity and respect for Aboriginal heritage, Balgal Cultural Tours combines hands-on activities, such as traditional fishing demonstrations with storytelling, bush food knowledge, and wildlife insights. Guests enjoy a relaxed, nature-based experience guided by locals who know the Country intimately.

Balgal Cultural Tours – East Kimberley Tagalong Fishing Experiences

Discover the beauty and culture of the East Kimberley with Balgal Cultural Tours, founded by Aimee Trust, a proud Gija woman passionate about sharing her heritage and love of fishing. Choose from a half-day (5 hours) or full-day (8 hours) tagalong adventure, departing Wuggubun Campground at 7:30am.

Your local guides will select the best fishing location based on tides, ensuring an unforgettable experience. Along the way, learn about Country, language, history, bush foods, and native wildlife. Enjoy hands-on demonstrations of traditional fishing techniques, throwing a cast net and spinning a handline, then try your luck at catching the iconic barramundi.

Relax by the river and immerse yourself in nature. If you land a catch, you'll have the chance to cook it over a campfire for a truly authentic experience.

Fresh fruit and drinking water are provided throughout the day.

All guests are invited to return to Wuggubun Campground at sunset for an evening around the campfire—share yarns, listen to stories, and enjoy the stars under the Kimberley sky.
