Description
The Ravensthorpe Museum, co-located with the Visitor Centre is jam-packed with displays of local history where you will be drawn back in time as you wander through the stories, memorabilia and photographic collections.
The collection, unearths the history of local figures from the early settlement, mining and agricultural industry and continues outside into railway carriages, the original jail, farming machinery and the historical society's pride and joy - Dance Cottage, named after George Dance who built the cottage and today resembles a working home of the 1900s.
Browse the visitor services area where you can find books by local authors, arts, crafts, preserves and souvenirs to purchase along with free visitor information and maps. During wildflower season, pick up tips about which species to find and where. Be on the lookout for the Qualup Bell (Pimelea physodes) and Royal Hakea (Hakea victoria) one of many wildflowers endemic to the area.
