Double hands up over here.
While the holiday mood is still strong, it feels like a good time to lock something in and save a bit of moolah, too.
To help with planning, we’ve rounded up 11 NSW escape destinations that only require a packed bag, a full tank, and a few days off (or more – you do you, baby).
1. Surfside 22
Take things coastal whilst still staying close-ish to home with a trip to the Illawarra.Â
We love the recently refurbed Surfside 22 because it is basically a stones throw away from the beach but also close to Crown St Mall for a bit of shopping, as well as local bars and restaurants.
The hotel also has an outdoor pool, so you can splish-splash sand-free, private kitchens and a terrace garden.Â
For ideas on what to do and see whilst you’re here, make sure to visit our Illawarra region homepage.
2. Batemans Bay Marina ResortÂ
Everything you need for a Batemans Bay break with the crew. Self-contained villas, pool, tennis, BBQs, playground, bikes, fishing wharf, beach access, and right next to the iconic 27-hole Club Catalina Golf Course.
You might not want to leave the whole time you’re here… but if you do, our homepage is your go-to Eurobodalla guide.
The kiddos will NOT be complaining about being bored at Wairo Beach Holiday Park in Lake Tabourie. There’s so much fun to be had here, from putt-putt and a tennis court, to swimming pools, playground with jumping pillow, and a BBQ area.
The grown-ups are guaranteed a good time too. Relax on the beach, explore the Shoalhaven, or kick back on your villa balcony and soak in the serenity. We adore the Olde Town themed villas, including the one that looks like a country pub, a garage or a general store.Â
Literally 5 mins away from the Three Sisters lookout and Blue Mountains Scenic world this is one PRIME location.Â
It’s just a short stroll from Katoomba and a quick drive to Leura, making it a great base for exploring the whole Blue Mountains region.
The hotel itself is pretty charming as well, and even has a sauna, bar and billiard tables. Neato!
A quick trip up to the Hunter Valley to stock up on vino and get our tasting on is always a win!
Especially when we book in at the Pokolbin Village Estate. With a restaurant and a cafe, tennis courts, swimming pools, a cheese shop, and loads of different accommodation types to suit groups of all sizes, it makes the trip both relaxing and fun.
You’ll thank us for the recommendation when you’re chilling by the pool, post-winery tour, pre-dinner, just livin’ your best life!
6. Nesuto The Entrance
The Entrance is such a good option for a getaway. Pretty beaches, loads of outdoor adventures, nommy cafes and plenty of activities for all kinds of holiday-makers.
Staying at the Nesuto The Entrance is a great choice when visiting because it’s right in the centre of all the action, but has all the amenities you need to get that ‘home away from home’ feel.
It ain’t no secret, Byron Bay is a divine holiday destination. But a stay at The Villas of Byron… well, that’s beyond divine, baby!
These 5-star luxury villas all come with their own private pool, hot tub, fully equipped kitchen and BBQ facilities.
We don’t reckon a place as gorgeous as this goes on sale very often, so make the most of it, peeps, while you can!
Who needs an overseas tropical getaway when Pacific Bay Resort is in Coffs Harbour?
Get those quintessential vacay-in-the-sun vibes with their 3 different swimming pools framed by palm trees, a 9 hole golf course, restaurants, onsite gym and day spa.
It’s also located just a short drive from the ICONIC Big Banana, downtown Coffs and beaches if you feel like heading out.
9. Bannisters Pavilion MollymookÂ
Gosh, we’re so excited to add this one to the list.
Everything at Bannisters Pavilion is a dream, from the stylish rooms to the pool setup that feels straight out of the Amalfi Coast, plus the proximity to the beach, restaurants and the rooftop terrace.
We recommend booking at least one meal at the famous Rick Stein’s just down the road. The hotel even offers a shuttle service to get you there!
10. BIG4 Happy Hallidays Holiday ParkÂ
An option for some laid-back coastal fun with a cracker of a name. There’s room types for every crew, from cabins and self-contained stays at an affordable price.Â
Spend your days splashing in the resort-style or indoor heated pools, watching the kids bounce endlessly on the jumping pillow and run amok in the playground, and getting some competition in the games room or at the tennis courts.
11. BIG4 Wallaga Lake Holiday Park
BIG4 Wallaga Lake Holiday Park has sooo much to offer including an actual onsite brewery… amazing. Grab a fresh beer and enjoy a meal at the restaurant while taking in the relaxed vibe.
Plus, there’s plenty to do around the park, from mini golf and the playground to the swimming pool, so everyone can have a great time.
