Incorporating a pergola into your property can prove to be a wise investment if you intend to sell your house. Enhancing your property’s outdoor space not only has the potential to boost its resale value, but it can also appeal to prospective buyers seeking an aesthetically pleasing environment.

Warmer climates offer the potential for even greater returns, as there is a very booming market and high demand for outdoor living in such regions.

With its many benefits, from creating extra living space to providing shade and cover, a pergola is a worthwhile investment. Just make sure to choose the right style, material, and installation cost for your backyard, and you’ll be able to enjoy your beautiful outdoor structure for years to come.

Even though it was previously meant to be a support to encourage the growth of creepers like plants, pergolas now can be used for multiple purposes such as creating an indoor environment outdoors.

While some homeowners prefer to be connected to their home, some residents would rather have a solitary structure in the middle of their garden or backyard. Consider the floor or base that the pergola will be built on. Things to consider are: is there already a concrete slab in place, raised or sunken floors, timber flooring or decking style – something to consider.

Most pergolas are constructed from metal or timber with a variety of materials to choose from to be the roof. Designs of roofing include the Colorbond, polycarbonate, shade cloth, plants and angled battens. They can differ in structure as not all pergolas are the same and are built to blend in with the rest of your property’s unique aesthetics.

Pergolas have many uses and can be built keeping the homeowner’s unique requirements in mind. Its structure can be used for relaxation and pleasure, while also upgrading the aesthetic features of your home.

Pergola styles range from traditional and classical to modern, with design choices like gable or flat roofs, freestanding or attached structures, and material options such as wood, vinyl, or aluminium. You can also find specialised designs like poolside pergolas, pergolas with integrated kitchens, or those featuring adjustable louvers for a modern, versatile look.

While some home handypersons can DIY from a prefab kit, most people tend to opt for a builder or specialist pergola company. Best advice?  Spend some time and google the huge range of options available.

They even shared how their special day went and it turned out beautifully.
