Get to Know Camel Rock Brewhouse

Setting up shop inside the historic Allawah House, Camel Rock Brewhouse is part of the BIG4 Wallaga Lake Holiday Park and has a pretty cool claim to fame: it’s the first microbrewery and bistro built in a holiday park anywhere in the world. WOAH!

Not only does it rock all that historical charm, the team here also serves up delish food, great beer and a super relaxed and super welcoming atmosphere.

“We’re about that coastal kind of fun vibe,” says manager Joanne Taylor. “It’s definitely reflected through the whole team.”

And although it’s a laid back spot, behind the bar, there’s still plenty happening.

There are 12 beers on tap, with a mix of Broulee Brewhouse favourites and a few that are made just for Camel Rock Brewhouse.

They also bring in seasonal brews from other South Coast breweries, for a bit of extra fun. Locals supporting locals is always a win!

On tap there’s everything from mid-strengths and hazy ales to pales, IPAs, XPAs, ciders and hard lemon and more… something for every kind of sipper.

And even if you’re not a beer drinker you’ll be chuffed, the bar also pour out local spirits from North of Eden Distillery, with a rotating cocktail list that highlights their gins along with fresh herbs and fruits.

“It’s a hit, especially in the summer,” says Joanne. Oooo we can’t wait to get our lips around one, STAT!

Oh and we have to mention that Camel Rock Brewhouse has sooooo much going on!

Live music every weekend, trivia on Wednesdays and woodfired pizzas every Friday.

Plus, it’s surrounded by lots of fun activities and places that keep us coming back again, again…. and again! The holiday park has mini golf, a swimming pool, a big outdoor chessboard and Camel Rock Beach right across the road.

Day out with the crew, sorted!

Why Camel Rock Brewhouse is such a local fave

Like, what’s not to love about a place where the beer is bangin’, the food is yummy and the feeling is pure Sapphire Coast?

Being part of a holiday park gives it a laidback, family-friendly feel that we adore.

“We’re certainly not just for park guests,” says Joanne. “But being in the park means we’ve got access to mini golf, the pool and it’s just a short walk to the water. It’s a really unique location.”

We love that it’s a place where the fam is welcome, kiddos included.

There’s a kids’ menu, room to stretch out and events that are fun for the whole family.

“We try to really include the kids in our space,” Joanne adds. “It’s important to be able to welcome everyone.”

Throw in some excellent live entertainment and we’re sorted

Every Saturday and Sunday there’s live music in the beer garden, with local artists and a few from out of town, so we’re always guaranteed to have weekend plans.

The friendly local crew, weekly events like trivia and pizza nights, and the fantastic location make it easy to see why the community loves Camel Rock.

“We’ve built a really great local crowd,” says Joanne. “It’s lovely having our regulars, and we love meeting locals who are new to Camel Rock Brewhouse as well as visitors from out of town.”

Nights with the gang, sunny afternoons with a bevvie, and casual dinners after a swim make Camel Rock Brewhouse the dream mix of local hangout and holiday escape.

And if you need even more convincing [which we’re sure you don’t] then meet a couple of peeps from the amazing team who work at Camel Rock Brewery and hear why they’re also such major fans.
